Did anyone see The Lobster? I thought it was excellent, struck a good balance between dark humour, surrealism and satire.

Those glasses make David Cross's nose look even more funny and bulbous than usual, like a little button mushroom on his face

I bet he never watched it

Cool, thanks!

I remember the first time I watched this and was mostly baffled, terrified and aroused - the second time I was just about able to appreciate and understand the plot, despite all the Lynchian red herrings we see at the start like the midget in the suit.

I know that annoyance well but I think what they are getting at with 'relevance' is whether the band is either doing anything new, or whether they are appealing to a new audience.
Radiohead can release a career best album tomorrow, but no one is going to hear it but Radiohead-fans. Because after 20 years as a high

I think he achieved note more for his style of writing than his actual taste or opinions, much like Pitchfork.

I can see why they feel that way, they are given away for free, and most comedians see them as just a means of promoting other things that make them money.
But without Podmass I probably would not listen to podcasts at all, and I think I did start to listen because the level of criticism showed that it was something

Yeah… I do get the point - but these jobs have been prevalent throughout history haven't they?: bookkeepers, journalists, government, architects, mathematicians - these jobs don't 'move anything' either and they predate computers and offices by some way.
These kind of jobs aren't for everyone but people have done them

The internet/aquarium part I liked, but this is just laughably dumb:
'Never in the history of the world have people worked ten hours and nothing has moved. '

The Shining was all about Kubrick faking the moon landing, and Native American genocide - at least according to Room 237.

I hope the irony of this has not escaped you.

At the start I thought I would find it pretty grating, but I did laugh a lot and has a nice performance from Greta.
I think it is supposed to have some kind of generational significance? But I am 26ish and just was thinking 'ugh, grow up' for most of it.
Frances seemed like someone who was kind of entitled, and it

There are plenty of bands that can match that run:
Led Zeppelin - first 6 albums
Pink Floyd - DSOTM to The Wall
Prince & The revolution
The Smiths

Kirk has some great moments, One and Fade to Black are memorable to me, he could do cool melodic shit when the BPM wasn't at insane Battery levels.

I am repeating what another poster has said here, but the episode wasn't really about giving plausibility to God's existence - it's just a cool what if you were actually god and holy shit how hard would that be story.
Yeah they do show an actual God character, but this is also a show that has one eyed mutants, sassy

Yeah I agree, that kind of drive really does vary from person to person, and I am probably closer to where you are in that it has never bothered me that much.
But then I am young, and this seems like the kind of thing that sets in with age.
