I don't think the idea is that you would interact with the duplicate in any way.

I remember it as one of the best Lovecraft stories, for the tone and the build up, but if anything kills horror it is too much exposition - the ancient history stuff always seemed dull to me.
As a straight adaptation it might not work as too much of Lovecraft relies on people seeing something so wacky they go insane,

I am rewatching the Sopranos right now, and I don't think his character was likeable (he was the guy who follows Melfi and beats up her boyfriend), pitiable definitely, and I agree JH does play his scenes very well particularly his last with Tony.

Headphones are good late at night, and although they can be uncomfortable after a while, it suits some music better and it's easier to get inside the music.

And they have HD music videos! Like you can get for free on youtube!

I tried this out today, it has the same issues as other streaming sites:
- overabundance of compilations
- crummy artist recognition for obscure stuff (try searching for Big Black)
- the explicit version of something (I think Kendrick Lamar) was still censored
- I had to login 4 times before I could play music

From what I remember: although the teleportation of the physical occurs in an instant, the conscious mind perceives it as a gabillion years with no stimulus, so the mind ends up 'eating itself'. In the story they test it out on death row inmates, who all go crazy or just drop dead after teleportation.

I was the same. I was a pretty well read kid but I remember feeling like my vocabulary was insignificant compared to Calvin's - a few years later I read something Watterson said about Calvin 'not being a literal 6 year old', but by then it was too late and I was trying to shoehorn 'salubrious' and 'avant-garde' into

Given the episode name I read it as "Guys, we fucked", but now I am less enthusiastic.

It has introduced me to a bunch of great authors I might have missed - currently reading The Invisible Man. A shame it is ending soon.

I just got into Of Montreal this past year, are they a good band to see live? I can't imagine how some of the complex arrangements will come out live

I haven't seen this in a while, when was the cut at the end?

This is a good summary of Snowpiercer (obvisously has spoilers):

I think Elysium had robot suits or some shit like that? That was cool, though I might have fallen asleep and dreamt it.

Honestly I was really annoyed at Snowpiercer and considered Elysium a slice of dumb sci-fi action fun.

This is a fun topic, I always like to think that music is not written but discovered. Basic patterns have an immediate effect on our brains - play the minor scale to anyone in the world and they will tell you it sounds 'sad' - regardless of their musical knowledge or culture. If musicians kept that in mind they might

Digitally: Albums go by year ascending. Movies by year descending. XBMC will sort all that out for me.

Snuff Box is great, I liked the way it has a running narrative throughout the series while still maintaining a sketch show feel, I don't think I have seen another TV show like that. One of my favourite theme songs as well.
