I third this. I've done my time as an extra - er, I mean 'background performer - and this practice is referred to as a 'continuity background'. For the people who were hardcore 'background performing is my LIFE!' types, getting x number of days as continuity was always a good score.

Ooh. What  a shiny stage floor. Props to whoever polished that.

Butler Two: Electric Butleroo.

Ages ago I heard him sit in on the Howard Stern show and he was just unstoppable. He took that show over. Stern started out trying to badger him into dropping the schtick and speaking in his normal voice, but he never would. Except to do spot-on parodies of old horror movie voices. And then he would just riff on

This is where I have to throw in a shout-out for Tanya Tagaq. I never get to introduce her into conversations! (plus, she's a throatsinger, which is spooky / sexy.)

FOR THE HOD-ORDE!

Not a movie, but the Person of Interest show runners must be clapping their hands in glee.

That's what I got out of it.

I'd like to see 'Best Ensemble' awarded to one person. That'd be hilarious.

They're keeping it vague, for sure.

It was pretty trippy to see Eastenders, (on a visit to London) see the posters on the street in the background of shots and realize that this show I was watching on television must have been filmed LAST WEEK. Other than that, yeah, didn't get into it.

It was genuine and heartfelt, BUT he also knew how to crank up the Shakespearean Actor Voice when he wanted the crowd to cheer.

It's odd to look at dismissive criticisms of Candice Bergen's acting pre-Murphy Brown. Reminds me that I saw a review of 'The Betsy' in some old magazine, dismissing Tommy Lee Jones as the 'pretty boy du jour'.

Maybe not charisma. I wouldn't join a cult that he formed or anything, but I do want a tiny Michael Cera that I can keep in my pocket and pull out whenever I want him to have an adorable reaction to something. That's a kind of charisma. Anti-charisma?

I did think of D.O.A., but I didn't expect to be reminded of Pulp Fiction TWICE.

I've seen Django Unchained twice and never noticed Jamie Foxx's penis. I must have penis-blindness.

(also - I totally met him that year. If by 'met him', you can count "walked past him in the Manulife Center." Okay… I haven't met him.)

At the 2001 Toronto International Film Festival, the film 'Rare Birds' premiered. It had the misfortune to premiere on September 11th. Only about 20 critics saw it. Ebert was one of them. He knew that its release had been crippled by this disaster and tried to promote it. It's my favorite film to come out of

And I read this right after I read about Iain M. Banks. I say this every day, but today I'm yelling it. Fuck you, Cancer.
