Yes, the Lagavulin is a bit sweeter than the other smoky ones you mentioned that I've tried; I find it gives it a more well-rounded flavour than most peaty/smoky numbers,but it is less extreme yes.

You should, live ballet is amazing! There are always DVDs, and you can find videos on Youtube (even full works), but it's not quite the same.
