@claude, I haven't watched it in a long time, but I liked it a lot and used to rewatch it fairly often. But it seems to be even more disliked than Miami Vice.
It was completely over the top, but I remember thinking it could almost work as a musical with plenty of well done dance numbers.

The Emperor's New Groove, if you think that's cheating on the definition of 21st century, it would then probably be Talladega Nights or Zoolander.

Maybe it's time for a reappraisal of Charlie's Angels?

The only Calvino I've read is Marcovaldo (it was a gift, I'd never heard of that one), I don't know if you've read it.
I can't compare it to any of his other stuff, it was very good and rather fun, it reads as a succession of short episodes in the life of the main character where he thinks he has just had a great

Can't you just write stuff at work?

Which brings the question: which are the ones you really want to meet?

Was it the McVicar production at the Met?
If so, was it full of titties or did he rein it in for the NY audience?
(also I'm curious, do people generally dress up or was it a Friday night thing?).

If I understand correctly, you have to enter the tournament to get the new belt?
I find that a bit iffy, I did judo for a short while when I was (much) younger, I was never very good but still managed to get a couple of levels above beginner, and I'm pretty sure the exams at the end of each level were included in the

I'm curious the early Bob's Burgers now, I only started watching a few weeks ago seeing how much it is praised around here, and it is very enjoyable, but it doesn't have that much to do with the restaurant, it still manages to be fairly grounded in reality.
I guess I'll catch up once everything is in summer hiatus.

I'm all for building confidence in kids, but you sometimes wonder how well thought-out these things are.

To be fair, that episode was particularly horrible, the rest was nowhere near great but was at least watchable and rather pleasant.

Yes, exactly. And even though the show was all about him evolving and changing it would have been nice to still have him go to his dinner reservation, as he had initially planned.

I'd say it's just amnesiac writing, Pierce's comment seems rather clearly meant to indicate that he has definitely ruined the US adaptation of Inspector Spacetime.
That they would do it a few weeks later is pretty bad.

I was happy enough with season four as a whole (once the first ten minutes had recalibrated my expectations), but that was genuinely awful.
I'd be curious to read a defense of it.

Having a thirteen episode order for the fourth season where they were all shot before airing also didn't allow them to correct for any outside reaction.
Hopefully the showrunners are paying attention to what is said about the show and will correct it; and given that everybody seems to want them to do their show instead

More product placement, there's no skipping those.

I'd love a TV show of Mason and Dixon; the books already lends itself to it quite well with an episodic structure with two main characters being the constant.
It could make for the craziest thing ever, don't you just want to see the duck or the kastoranthrope?

I'm on a Pynchon odissey at the moment (and I love it) but made sure to keep GR for last based on its reputation, haven't read it yet so can't comment compared to the other ones, but you may be better off checking out Lot 49 or Vineland from the library. People will tell you I'm wrong, but that they're the simplest

Have you read (and liked) other Pynchon books?
The endless digressions are pretty much an essential part of his style but I love it.
