Classical Music thread

We should always heed the wisdom of people who are borderline paedophiles.

HEAVY METAL:
The protagonist arrives on a Harley, kills the dragon, drinks a few beers and fucks the princess.

This will take a while, you may want to sit down.

Clearly the movie will be a crash course in philosophy, they already have an update on Zeno's paradox.

What are the odds that they'd manage to sneak in line:"I'll kill you, you big hairy ape!" ? I'd watch the movie for that.

@avclub-4c56756898d633b36107f305da70351d:disqus It was a very different band, and can't say I agree, They Were Wrong, So We Drowned and Drum's Not Dead are my favourite of theirs.
But more than that, they are one of the best live bands I've ever seen.

Getting a library card was the very first thing I did after I moved, unfortunately I found their offer a little disappointing, and I keep buying so many books (four last week) that I probably already have more than I will ever read => I don't think I've been in the past three years.

Brunnhilde is feisty and badass, just more so as the operas go along, are you seeing/have you previously seen the whole cycle or is it just a one-off?
Have you read the Nibelungenlied, it's one of the sources Wagner used, she definitely is badass in there.

I remember finding Machine a horrible mess when I first bought it, must admit I haven't really given it a second chance, I'd probably be more tolerant of it today.
I was even relatively disappointed by Fever to Tell, but mostly because I then already knew about half the album from live radio sessions, and, apart from

Would you consider the Datsuns garage? Their first album was rather hyped and they went nowhere.

They most certainly are, I saw them live a couple of years ago at some sort of festival, they put on a great show.

It seems as good a place as any to say that Liars rule!

They're the only band where I can say that I liked the first EP better than anything else they've done (the second was horible though).

In London Hyde Park, I thought the prices were expensive but I looked up how much it would be in the US and realised I'm getting off easy. It's a whole day of music as part of some festival as well, and getting there early and making the most of it means I'd get a chance to be as close as possible to the stage.

@LurkyMcLurkerson:disqus I prefer knowing as little as possible before seeing a movie, I find it overall a better experience, you judge the movie for itself and not against prejudiced expectations (to an extent).

I haven't been to any of the parks in over fifteen years so wouldn't know, Disney screwed the release, but in their defense, they ended giving it a sequel and a TV show (which I haven't seen nor have any intention to).
It's still very different from any other of their movies and only found whatever success it has on

Emperor's New Groove is easily the movie I've seen the most often, completely agree that it doesn't get enough love, it's not only one of the best Disney movies, but I'd even say it's one of the best comedies I've ever seen.
The main problem is getting people to watch it, I've never heard of anyone who didn't like it.

Would they? I don't think there are that many about non-US related things, they also try to avoid anything overtly political. I can't remember if they did one about RATM at the top of the charts for Christmas a couple of years ago.
I fully expect one about the latest Bieber story though.

I've been listening to a lot of the Rolling Stones in anticipation of seeing them live, I've started with the best of the released a few months ago and will be making my way through their catalogue.
Unsurprisingly, I already knew about two thirds of the songs (basically anything that wasn't the very beginning or
