I found it was a lot easier to just go dark on Facebook and not look at the damn thing at all.
argh! when I typed that last night I had it has brackets first and then changed it to // cause for some reason I had it stuck in my head that the original versions were slashes. Wikipedia says not.
I am totally going to be hearing it this way from now on.

We were going to her parents house, but on the way back I had routed us through there. Wanted to spend NYE in a bar in a small town and we in fact did that….but left at 11pm because New Mexico hadn't passed the non-smoking in bars law yet and had forgotten how miserable a smoky bar is.

A guy I met there was telling me about he and a friend riding their bikes through a city park in Perth and one hit a tiger snake with his back wheel. It was like "yikes!", but then they continued about like nothing happened.
I had six gallons of water, so I didn't have to take it that far! Really the most dangerous thing I encountered where I feared for my life were young teenage drivers who just got their driving permit/P plates.
