New as in "this year" or "new to us"? If the latter, a lot of Kool & the Gang.

yes, or in my case, when their clothing purchases are strictly limited to when Gap sends them an email with the subject line of: "We are having a 40% off sale, this weekend only!"

Someone did that at a Built to Spill show, I don't know if it was planned or not…but BTS did an incredible version of that song, complete with the raging guitar solo.

It has been a decade since I was there but I never really heard them that much there. One band I was surprised that nobody really heard of was the Grateful Dead. I would talk to older folks who were up on their Beatles, AC/DC, Creedence, Janis Joplin, etc. More than once I had to explain to these folks who the

Growing up during MTV's heyday…without MTV, there are a ton of videos for popular songs I listened to a ton but never saw the actual video. I shall check it out.

Both of our comments can be filed under: "Math is Fun!"

Fun fact: Bryan Adams was 9 1/2 years old during the Summer of 1969. Ryan Adams would have been about -4 1/2 years old during that summer.

I saw Elliott Smith+Quasi play in 1997 at an outdoor concert and a bunch of the kids in the front row were screaming "WHO ARE YOU?" Elliott shrugged said something to the guitarist (it might have been Sam Coomes?). The guitarist said "I walked into a Soho doorway? Is that right?" Elliott said "yeah, and a

This song is unusually HUGE in Australia/New Zealand. I was in the middle of nowhere in a mostly aboriginal town and there were a few bands playing music. The first band played Summer of '69 towards the end of their set. About an hour later another band came out and opened with Summer of '69. The funny part is

Wow, I just saw myself in that last bit with the newscaster on the dance floor….can't hear for shit with background noise and I get annoyed with interruptions when there is a task at hand.

yeah, it was about maybe 50/50? Once the two guys started shoving everyone they got surrounded by guys putting a stop to it, hence it looks like it is just guys there. I just held the camera up and recorded it figuring someone would need it when pressing charges…which apparently is happening now.

At the Portland show, a fight broke out among forty-somethings during, wait for it…."Talent Show". Two guys really wanted to pretend it was '81 all over again, everyone else…not so much.

Ah, I didn't see your link when I posted the same comment. But yes, much less gear now.

The Ummagumma shot.

The first website I ever went to in 1994 was a Liz Phair fan website and they had her yearbook photo there…that was when I realized that this Internet thing could go somewhere:

Isn't that where Liz Phair went to high school?

A friend of mine was an intern for John Hughes and actually got to hold "the letter" from this movie. I can't remember what all was on it.

Now I'm reminded of a day I was angry one time last year when visiting the AVC. This could have been a great cover, but it is the audio equivalent of the handheld shakey camera film craze.

I have that in domain form. Was going to fill it up with youtube videos but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Great job Will!
