What works about her is that she's not supposed to be entirely endearing. Sure, she respects Holt, but a lot of her sucking up is self-serving. It's the niceness combined with the neediness that's funny.

That's possible. I was referring to the I/A partnership, the crux of the show, more than any potential romance, though that also plays a part when you're trying to reel viewers in. We'll see, I guess. Either way, I don't think Katrina is adding anything to the show so far.

Well that's the problem right there. They're not developing Katrina or giving her a lot to do because they don't want anything to compete with the Ichy/Abbie dynamic. This makes sense and I'm not sure I/K would have as much chemistry as I/A no matter what, but the show is uneven as a result.
