Yes. Knowing oneself isn't just another fight scene . It should be very complex and difficult to obtain. Treating it like just another easily resolved plot point undermines the very concept.

You can't randomly make a minor character practically as powerful as the Avatar. Not only does it not make sense, but it waters down what being the Avatar is supposed to mean.
