Exactly. The over singing does nothing for her. Her voice is much easier to take on the songs where she takes it down several notches. But I doubt she realizes or cares about that. She'll belt cause she wants to belt and I'll continue not listening to her music.

Ohhh…that explains a lot. Didn't realize her last album flopped. Between that and her movie career, no wonder she's so desperate.

She may be able to sing some music, like quieter folksier material, but the style of this album does not compliment her voice at all, other than working in her limited range.

That's exactly how I feel. I just listened to the album and though I'm not a huge fan of these songs, the album is much better than I would've expected given it's Miley and the quality of at awful lead single. I might even consider listening to the songs more than once if they replaced Miley with a competent singer. I

Robin has always been my favorite character so it was super depressing to see that she doesn't get along with other women. Not that I really bought it since there's no way a prominent character trait like that wouldn't have come up earlier. That whole subplot was contrived and damaged Robin's character unnecessarily.

What I got from that shot of Fara was that she was supposed to look very alone and small, like an underdog, making it all the more satisfying when she proved her worth.

Artistry?

TV-related conversations on Twitter? Huh. Hmmm. Uh… What kind of losers would have anything to do with that? *tugs collar*

I thought they gave Masters a bit of development in this ep, or at least highlighted an intriguing part of his character, at least to me. How much of him is doing the study for science vs for himself? I wish they'd held off on foreshadowing his interest in Virginia some, because there's so much to cover regarding his

I also enjoy this mode, though we did see a lot of it last season. As good as it is, I hope they don't take to long to shift the dynamics up again so things don't get too repetitive. To an extent, paranoia is in the DNA of both the show and Carrie herself, but they need to switch things up eventually.

This. They need to edit the Dana material (that laundry scene was too much) but everything involving the bathroom, especially her speech, and the prayer mat, were very affecting to me. Plus the actress is rocking it. I'm still interested in her storyline because the psychology behind everything that she now has to

She's just rebelling, particularly due to a very strange, artificial youth. The only unusual thing is that she's doing it on the public stage. It's not something to get worked up about, as tasteless as it is, which she herself owns up to.

Yes, I'd say the same about any other woman referred to that way. If you're going to criticize her, refer to her performance. How often are guys denigrated based on how many people strangers just assume they've slept with, which is what that word insinuates? Referring to women as sluts is beneath this site and should

You're calling a stranger a slut and she's the immature one?

Happy bday!

The premiere was so beautiful. I kind of feel duped.

Right. Too much exposition. I don't care about the details of this war. Give me the bulletpoints and talk about or do anything else. Those scenes have to be broken up with something, and something less rote. They make me feel like I'm in the world's dullest war strategy room.

Yes. Even if they're not BFFs, these people need to have dynamic relationships with each of the other characters and a reason to be there. Even Korra and Asami, who now have a complicated relationship. But that's interesting! Do something with it!

And it's not like there was no purpose for the lemurs. Tenzin's kid being emotionally and physically exhausted by training this pet he loves was a metaphor for Tenzins feeling the same way about Korra. The end of the scene made that pretty clear. It was random as a side plot but meaningful at least.

Oh seriously? I'd never heard that. That would've resulted in a wildly different show. Now I need to track down that interview.
