Exactly. Appealing to teenage girls has resulted in some great art and culture throughout the years and they can be a very smart demographic. Which is why the disparagement of the CW because it caters to them is bullshit. The CW may be doing so in a wrongheaded way at times, but that isn't that demographic's fault.

Soaps are everywhere, at least according to my definition. Always have been, always will be. See: Nashville, Revenge, Scandal, etc. etc. etc. Most of them are crap, yes.

Yup. Free DeKnight! At least make a decision so he can move on if need be, with Incursion if you're feeling generous.

We do and don't use "gay" as a pejorative. Use it when that's actually a thing on TV, which would be awesome.

@avclub-f8523a7e392b7ab306239f511fd75280:disqus  How in the world is Aisha Tyler a terrible host?

But it's more expensive for them so the ratings have to deliver.

@Bitenuker:disqus She's one of the women he sleeps with, but he actually has feelings for her. She's great in it. Worth the rewatch.

Tumblr: we can work with that

But Kate….wahhh.

Now that's a State of the Union I'm interested in.

Sorry, some of that was me, but that 2nd ep was reeeeeally weak and has me officially concerned.

Everything @avclub-c252b9390befbfe200d59090a071c413:disqus and @avclub-996de8a3d28df8b25f6cf2dfc7b5c699:disqus said. I also really like the ratings roundups and hope some of that can continue throughout the season as the data starts coming in for proper evaluations of renewals and cancelations. And I don't know when

@drdarke:disqus I see what you're saying. But from the beginning, I was interested in the basic premise of Dollhouse. We knew there were dolls, people who volunteered themselves into a kind of slavery. I loved The Avengers and the other Marvel movies decently, but on the whole the Marvel world doesn't interest me

Oh my God, that "you and I just can't understand each other" line absolutely killed me. WTF. Good call.

Same. I'm going to watch as much of S1 as I can get through because of who's involved. The problem, though, is that the rest of the country won't be nearly as patient. The ratings may become a problem.

My bf did the same thing.

@Scrawler2:disqus @avclub-e19801f9caf39bff8afc5e4548f2942d:disqus I think this is a really interesting discussion and articulates a lot of the problems I was having with Skye's character as I've been watching. To give the show credit, I'm glad they at least had her in somewhat conservative clothing while she was

@avclub-3e9e0f1010418374c3dd9ccf3b0ed27c:disqus Maybe I need scenes where she's proving herself at the computer or talking about her work because her acting isn't cutting it. They've at least been showing Fitz and Simmons in action with their jobs so I buy their expertise much more readily.

I assume that's some history that will be cleared up more as the show goes along, but I'm also impatient to get to some of those basic answers. Some of it may have already been illuminated, but I can't help but tune out during the dry exposition-y speeches.

@avclub-5a1c0dcc8243c086c74ee944052f6f0f:disqus That would make more sense and good question.
