She at least used to be interesting when they gave a shit about the friendship between her and Jess, though she deserves her own plots as well. And we all know how well that's turning out for Ann on Parks and Rec. *sigh*

I would actually be really impressed if the show followed through with separating one of the couples seemingly set up to be a OTP just because that never happens.
Their names are Elizabeth and Cece. Look, the former is even in the comment you replied to!
I liked that the ep had really dark and hilarious stuff but they definitely had trouble juggling the tones. They needed to find time to bridge it with something.
The fact that that tired "speak English" line was trotted out about 3 times probably had me more worried about this series than anything else so far. I'm going to hope that they were under a time crunch or something in these early eps.
It was standalone like the early eps of Dollhouse but the latter hinted at a more interesting premise, mythology, and characters even at that early stage. I'm still optimistic but I think SHIELD has a deeper hole to climb out of at this point. But yes, it's still very early.
And they seem to be going back and forth about Fitz and Simmons' history with SHIELD. In this ep, they said this was only their second mission but I could have sworn that they have been acting like they're way more acquainted with SHIELD procedure than that. Maybe I'm conflating said experience with their levels of…
Agreed. It's not her appearance that makes her less believable as a hacker. It's because her performance isn't great; she's lacking some necessary gravitas. And they haven't given her enough scenes of her doing her computer thing, which results in disconnect.
"Leave the rest of us out of it"? You chose to read criticism. If you're just looking for praise, I think you went to the wrong place.
Team dynamics were established, which is so important for shows like this, but the way the show went about doing so really irked me. Everything was spelled out instead of illustrated more organically. I'm Skye and I like teamwork! I'm the bland handsome dude and I'm a lone wolf! We're like Romeo and Juliet and will…
Grrr! Argh!

If you guys haven't seen those British documentaries about it…I don't understand what you're doing with your time.
The same week Homeland has a Princess Bride sight gag in honor of Saul…weird.
Squee.

But I got the impression that he's into comics. His kid was looking at superhero action figures and he seemed to have a sense of the tropes involved according to several of his lines. I wouldn't assume that he isn't a nerd in addition to his other characteristics.
I wonder if the judges were bullshitting or if that was really the best meal served on Top Chef. It was at least fun to see them so happy about it.
…
OK that was a good burn.
