Really the only way that this movie could be really good and interesting is if they made it a hard R horror movie about a conflicted anti-hero being the only person who can stop a superpowered serial killer. Would it kill anyone to release a movie and make sure it's good and people respond well to it before announcing a decade's worth of sequels and spinoffs only to embarrassingly have to backtrack on them when you lose $100M on the very first one?

These kinds of negligence claims are all kinds of shitty. It'll probably settle quietly and quickly, because the system is set up in a way to encourage that, but, yeah.
