Although Ocean's slow cinema didn't work for me here, just wanted to chime in and say I appreciated the fugue-state comment. That's a good way to put it. A lot of Jim Jarmusch's stuff comes to mind when I hear that adjective.
No point in us endlessly debating our differing opinions on the album itself (all of mine are in the review, for better or for worse), but just to clear up a few things:

Still holding out for his solo album, but even a compilation of his guest verses would make a fantastic record. Hell, even "Solo (Reprise)," "Pink Matter," and "Int'l Players Anthem (I Choose You)" would make a hell of a 7-inch.
