Ah yeah, the lack of female characters is a good point. I hadn't thought of that. I guess the Tolkien knockoff never bothered me though because even Elfstones and Wishsong and the rest of 'em still feel like Tolkien knockoffs, as much as I've enjoyed them.

Thank you!

Ha! Thanks for catching that. And to think, I could've almost typed Dan Fogler.

Thanks for reading!

Oh yeah, I need to check that one out as well!

Ooo, I haven't, but I'm interested in all things Krampus-related. Is it any good?

Awesome! I hope you enjoy it. It's such a satisfying winter-time read. Happy Holidays!

There are some other illustrations that I didn't include here of Mrs. Claus and some of the human characters that are also breathtaking. And as a bonus, each chapter also contains a black and white drawing! Definitely worth picking up in hard-copy form.

Yeah, it bugged me how his mouth never really moved!

I read the book last Christmas, and the initial previews for the film looked like it maaaaybe was based on the book, but I couldn't tell. It seems weird that it wasn't. That being said, I didn't completely hate the movie or anything. It was still entertaining and had some cool (if underused) effects—just as little

Was actually able to find NBC-licensed YouTube links for the second rendition, as well as the 2011 one. I edited the article to include them. The original's still only available on Hulu though. Hopefully these embeds work better for you!

Not quite, but our webmaster is Dick Ebersol.

Of course there's no way to prove it either way, but I've always associated legit bands using Casios more with the '80s and Casios as toys more with the '90s. Or maybe there was a 20-year stretch where they reigned supreme.

Sorry about Hulu's iron-fisted geographic restrictions. If the embeddable links were available elsewhere, I'd post them, but alas, they're not. Thanks for reading regardless!

Ha, you are so very right. Fixed!

It's a good gift!

Hey, no disrespect to Dire Straits intended, I promise. Making Movies is like a lost Springsteen album, especially since Mark Knopfler hired Roy Bittan for the keys. His performance really rolls that thing along on the more piano-driven tracks like "Tunnel Of Love" (also title of a Springsteen album/song!) and

Sorry about that. Fixed!

I would, but there really aren't any, at least not for the various versions of the song. NBC are kind of bastards about giving you embeddable links that aren't Hulu. The linked text ones (The Muppets and the Fallon performance) should work though.
