It does.
It does.
As a college marching band alumni, I'll always have a soft spot for Journey because their songs make kick ass marching band songs.
I don't think it was about making fun of war propaganda, I think it was about it being one of the worst goddam movies ever made. I will never understand how anyone remembers Starship Troopers fondly.
Also, let's stop using the word "building" to mean a built structure - it is a terrible corruption of our language. While we're at it, can we go back to speaking Proto-Indo-European, or perhaps just a series of grunts and whistles?
*This* will cure him of his love of cinema!
Already exists actually: http://www.imdb.com/title/t…
A friend of mine managed to con his mom into renting this…somehow…when we were like 10. I don't remember much of it other than it uses the Archie characters (or at least their names) in some kind of soft-core porn romp.
Sure. I'd love to have that conversation. I'm not quite understanding the anger here. I'm sure a believer would be equally terrified at the idea that they may one day not believe. I don't see how that invalidates my feelings, but feel free to keep being sanctimonious while accusing me of being the same I guess?
This appears to be based on the same story as the really odd Rankin-Bass santa claus origin special: http://en.wikipedia.org/wik…
I'm am genuinely curious. As an atheist myself the idea that I might somehow find religion is, frankly, terrifying to me.
They quote at least the Watchmen prison fight scene as well (the slo-mo bit in the office). I bet there's other quotes as well (like I don't know what the hell is going on with the exploding cars in the parking lot or whatever).
There appear to be "quotes" of some other famous fight scenes in here. The one where they first start fighting in the office is, I think, the "breaking into the prison to rescue Rorschach" scene from Watchmen. I think then it goes into the first fight scene in Kill Bill maybe (might be wrong about that one, but I bet…
Lesson to the guest judges: even if you are just going to praise, find *specific* moments and things to praise. I loved how Anna Kendrick would call out specific moments that grabbed her rather than just saying "oh my god that was so great".
Aww man, I came here to reminisce about Gilligan's Planet. Boo.
Jeez, this is almost exactly the plotline for a Savage Worlds campaign I'm writing (except it takes place in post-civil-war wild west). #nerdLife.
He certainly has some animation skills, but he seems a little more broad based than Blueprint, Jade, and Cyrus.
I thought the biggest dick move was that Mariah didn't even get a chance to leave the stage and compose herself before her solo. I agree her solo was pretty terrible.
* Fik-shun looked about 5 years older just by not smiling. I love his smile, but it was great to see a completely different demeanor on him.
You can get basically all the Infocom games (of which this was one) on iOS now for like $10.
I think I would buy a coffee table book consisting of just this article and comment thread. Well done.
