Fun fact, H. Jon Benjamin is also in ATHF as Mothmosterman, the khaki-clad insect-beast notable for laying a bunch of his eggs in Carl's esophagus and saying he was being "a real baby about it". He sounded like himself there too, which made it all more absurd.

I live in Philly, why are you only telling me about this now?????????

"Satan is attacking my family. This is not my fault in any way whatsoever. Nope."

BREAKING: Cancer cures itself after Ryan Gosling asks nicely.

DA: "Your honor, I didn't get to make a closing argument."

That's entirely too many words:

At the end Matt Smith pops open a pocket watch, remembers who he really is, and Doctor Who Season 9 begins.

"Turn left…You are now in the inner city. You will make new friends. Goodbye."

@avclub-e3f5ab7f02122f95b801e13e2c586d6a:disqus Exactly. Spielberg makes good movies, therefore Spielberg movies must be good. This is why pap like War Horse got such generous reviews. (Not that Spielberg is a particularly bad offender, but I think that's a good example of such a movie.)

This is despite Portal 2 being only nine hours long. Anything other than Portal 3 (and only if it is transcendent) would tarnish the series.

Fungible Lackey: "Chell, we need you to portal us up to that ledge!"
Chell: [chasing herself through portals in the corner]

Yo dawg we heard you like lens flares so we put lens flares in your lens flares so you can go blind while you go blind.

I want a microchip installed in my brain that makes me hear GLaDOS berating me everywhere I go.

Auteur theory holds that a film is a result of the director's artistic vision, or, extrapolated, that the director's distinct vision can be seen across many films. This seems to be a given the way we talk about movies now, but it was a departure from the studio model where the director was basically a hired gun whose

Remember: it's about feelings, because scripts are hard.

I think the F is really from a combination of the world's justified vendetta against Sheen and the feeling that Murray and Schwartzmann have betrayed us by being in this crap.

Darjeeling was okay but I don't think it needs more than one viewing, whereas I could watch The Royal Tenenbaums for the rest of my life. I thought Moonrise Kingdom was great aside from the boy's performance—whatever creative reasons they had to coax that particular performance out of him, it came across as him just

Whaaaat? Boat cross-section pan-shots, CGI meant to look like stop-motion, and a soundtrack that consists entirely of David Bowie songs sung in Portuguese (right?) isn't awesome?

"It isn’t a movie so much as a feature-length perfume commercial for a Charlie Sheen signature cologne with gorgeous packaging and absolutely nothing inside."
