The Wrong Mans

I would do it for a hundred plus air fare.

I haven't watched a late night show regularly since David Letterman retired (because I am old) but when I do see James Corden, I understand his popularity. I think he is adorably sincere.

He actually said he did those things? Oy. I love that song and I want to like him. The Cosbification continues. Oh wait—"Billifying" that's better. The Billifying of people I want to like but cannot possibly like continues.

Everyone is so clever today!

My favorite line in the song!

Oh crap, that means I'm ten years older.

Thanks.

Please explain in case I didn't get it.

Extra pay was in order for the dancers.

I hadn't heard her sing. She sounds like Leslie Gore.

Well, we can see what a brilliant song it is when each listener hears the right lyrics for his or her age and situation.

Yours was the version for teens.

That's good too.

The yearning becomes even more salient as we get older.

You mean recently or when they were new? Brass in Pocket played all the time when I was in high school, and My City was Gone, and if you scan around the car radio like I do you'll hear all their biggest hits now and then. Oldies are cyclical for some reason, so when you hear something for the first time in years,

Plus it is so satisfying to sing along to the chorus "way to go…".

Brass in Pocket, because it was a cool new sound right when I got to the age to appreciate a cool new sound. I still don't know the words though.

I always think of it as "Ohio."
