If you can't create a character who looks and dresses as Fantine or Napoleon, then what's the point of a game that's set during the French Revolution. Vive le…meh, amirite, mon ami?

TMatEotB is my first favorite book.

The last paragraph of this piece is fantastic. Well done, Mr. Adams.

It's not even close. Sesame Street laps the field even if you just counted Master's Theses and Doctoral Dissertations.

To paraphrase Jackie Robinson, "blow me."

<——-it's true.

Unsurprisingly, I enjoyed this 11 Questions column. Brilliant stuff, from both O'Neal and Mr. Katz. My commitment to this avatar for the past thirty years has paid off.

This was a very honest appraisal of a loathsome song/artist. Spoken like a true music teacher, Mary Timony. She won me over completely with this response:

Helium had some good tunes as well. Do check them out.

Consider me…apprehensive. I don't see this working. What do you do? Reboot with newer, younger actors portraying the established characters (a prequel?) Do you move the storyline 25 years in the future? Is the guy who played Bob homeless now? Does Lara Flynn Boyle even exist anymore? This is twenty years too late,

Every scene with the old pharmacist Gower are the ones that get me emotional the past couple of viewings. Not sure which is worse: the scene when George tells him about the poison pills, or the "alternate reality" Mr. Gower pan-handling for booze money at the bar. Heart-breaking stuff.

Animal/Bob is fantastic.

The winner. Congrats. You get a private audience with Audrey Horne at one-eyed jacks as your prize.

Agreed. you should start immediately, It's only two seasons. Take a long weekend and you'll knock the whole thing out.

Yeah, I think that INXS were good, too…wait, WHAT? There is something called The Real Housewives of Melbourne? Crikey…

It would be interesting to look at all the rage fans who were 14 in 1996 and loved this band, to see if it influenced their politics or life choices or whatever. I have to admit that I was actually persuaded by the Leonard Peltier song and video (hey, that nice old Indian really does need to be freed from prison),

Couldn't agree more. Well said.

Well, it's mentioned in the fourth paragraph, kinda buried I think, to play up the "deceptively affectionate and slightly menacing songs of the 60s" angle. It's sung too sweetly and earnestly to convey anything but longing and desperation to my ears (Ben E King had some set of pipes).

C'mon, I was right. Mexico played the games of their lives, their keeper was superhuman and Brasil should have scored at least 3. They do this in the group stage all the time. Just get through and go nuts in the knockout stages.

Well, Manu is left-handed, so I think you're onto something there.
