As a parent of young kids, I just wanted to say, "hell yeah, Helena" for her insisting on continuing to work as an actor when she doesn't "have to", just for her. It's so easy to lose yourself as a parent. Extra kudos for not dragging her kids all over the world at random intervals as well. Sigh… I love her too much.

As A-list as they come…

Yet…not a great actor.

I mentioned Astaire. Kelly is a major omission. Crabbe an A-lister?

The Rock has officially put an end to any discussion of most athletic A-list movie star. Maybe Bruce Lee challenges him all-time? Currently, Michael B Jordan is a distant second, then maybe Hugh Jackman, Daniel Craig, Angelina Jolie, and Matt Damon? Historically there are major cases to be made for Denzel, Arnie,

Good grief, do punks get all worked up about defining a word. This is pure click bait for anyone over 35. Not giving in to it! (See, because that's how punk I am).

Re: Dreamwork's generic" story-telling: for the most part, a major issue. However, an exception could be made for a certain reptile-related story involving alpha-hypnosis and major "heel turn" by a beloved protagonist. And, no, it ain't Jurrasic World. Here's how the franchises rank for me.

Well, that's it then. All of the rock n' roll heroes of my youth are dead. All the Ramones, Joe Strummer, George Harrison. Most of them anyway. We'll always have Keith Richards to kick around. Right?

Thank you. Mass slaughter is not preferable. Maybe we'll wait for DVD, skip the slaughtering.
He!s very visual, and on the ASD spectrum, so that should tell you why he is pretty much Lucas' target audience. Sounds like a date night for me and the missus.

Very true; but at least this way he can get trash like Ep. 2 out of the way, so that, later in life, he can fully appreciate the genius of stuff like The Flash. You know, the stuff you like.

Cutting to the chase: is it ok to take my 7-year old to see this on the big screen? The standard? He adores Episode Two, (but he skips the Tusken slaughter scene) but refuses to watch Episode Three (just too dark all around) So, somewhere in there would be the sweetspot. Any takers?

Set list for this show? There is quite a catalog to choose from now. They were so good 10 years ago, they must be amazing now.

Well, that sounds…adorable. I recant my (facetious) assertion. Cosplay is fun for everyone!

Agreed, but I really liked Carrie Brownsteins book a lot, too.

Wasn't it Cedric Diggory and Fleur making out?

Yes, Hermione's will is certainly the main factor, yet she is so conscientious of their wishes when it comes to dental work, etc. Yeah, I love Hermione.

Great read. Potter Christmases always resonate strongly, I like the Yule Ball chapter best of the seven.. I've always been intrigued by Hermione's parents. So, not only do they send her to some mystery castle where she vanishes for months, but she stays for Christmas, too? They seem overly willing to invest in her

There are few things In life I have enjoyed more than reading aloud to my oldest child (in this order) Calvin & Hobbes, the Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, and so far, 4 Potter books. Like most child entertainments, I have read this with an adult/parental perspective and found new meaning, while watching him react to these

The story of this song has become an obsession for me. Everyone assumes that this was just Paul noodling with a synth, but there's got to be more. I mean, was it a bet or a dare? "Yo, macca, write a song with 5 notes, 3(?) chords, and oh yeah, the most juvenile lyrics imaginable, and, a Christmas song, to boot.50

I'm with Zod on this one. The whole movie is the answer to a very specific question: what was the greatest Christmas present you ever got? The brilliance of the movie is that both kid and adult Ralphie agree on that Christmas as the best, for very different reasons. Come for the bob gun, stay for the Boomer nostalgia.
