Good question. hard to argue those three (hobgoblin is particularly underrated), but I would consider Venom, Green Goblin, and Sandman in the top 3 for me, and Black Fox last (a little reference for all you Micheliene/McFarlane-era Spidey fans.)

Agreed. Its interesting how being teamed up with Ditko (rather than Kirby) brought out different writing from Lee. Not sure if it was just the different art style or something about his relationship with each artist, but he definitely had two muses during that incredible golden age run.

Even Christopher on the Sopranos knew that one, except substitute "bag of oranges" for "cup of coffee."

Yes! That, and I'm just waiting for the last episode, when Ted tells his kids in 2030 that he is recounting all of this to them because he, and all their aunts and uncles, are all dying of liver failure. Have you seen how much booze these guys are drowning every night?

There are definitely ways to do product placement right. Seinfeld having pretty much mastered the art. (It was a Junior Mint. Those can be very refreshing!)

Re: The Hyundai in Boyz N the Hood: never thought of that before, but maybe they jacked it cuz it was red, sort of an initiation thing? Also, seems like you either had a car from the 60s or a beater car that you put rims on and blacked out the windows, according to what I see in early 90's gangsta movies, so maybe

Yeah, I'm pretty sure there was an epidemic of alcohol poisoning-related deaths, due to the "Drink everytime Jack screams 'We're running out of time!' game during the 24 era.

Since the switch to Disqus, my screen name has been missing the last three letters (vor), made more sense in the old days, and thanks for the feedback.

Thank you for this. As I work my way through my mid-30s having hated country music, this kind of artist is right up my alley.  Parsons seems like the kind of artist you just don't get when you're 15 or 16, you have to "discover" them later in life. Or are there any younger folks out there who are crazy for
