I think we're all familiar with the simpsonic origins of the Wallet Inspector name and avatar.

This isn't mine but I heard an amusing "drinking in a bar" story yesterday. I met and started talking to a guy who had moved down here to LA from Portland a couple months ago. It was the first week he came to town and his car broke down one afternoon looking at apartments. His friend's place was nearby but he knew he…
Boooo!
Boooo!
I think Haymarket does great stuff but I've only visited during Chicago Beer Week and the Festival of Barrel Aged Beers so they were pulling out all the stops with special beers at the time. Uber Mathias and Claire's Thirsty (Imperial Stout aged on raspberries in Woodford Reserve Barrels) are my favorite. I also like…
The only possible way this could be okay would be if your uncle doesn't know what words mean.
Got your e-mail last night - will write you back this afternoon! I do love Heady - very much an East Coast IPA rather than the super tropical hop-bombs we do out west, but it's so delicious and drinkable.
Why is it that your uncle is at liberty to grab anybody's leg that he pleases, but he's such a sensitive flower that he can't handle a smack to the face?
Daisy Cutter's nice, but Galactic Double Daisy Cutter is sublime. Haven't had the Rosa but I really like most everything from Revolution. Still got a bottle of Very Mad Cow, their barrel aged milk stout, that I want to crack open soon.
Any favorites from Chicago?
The worst was watching the reruns on Comedy Central, where all the nudity - i.e. the show's entire reason for existing - was edited out.
Yeah, I'm much more in the camp of calling Karen the hero or moral center of the film but I think it's something of a litmus test. It's true Karen stands up for her beliefs and pays a price, but ultimately there's no indication that any good comes of it.
Linton always came across to me as equal parts Donald Rumsfeld (folksy but nonsensical aphorisms and willful ignorance) and John Bolton (appearance, open disdain for the international community and crushing dullness).
It's no longer there? That's a bummer.
I was not aware that Lauren Graham had written a novel, but I will happily read it based upon the fact that she is dreamy.
Really not sure how I feel about the news. This is the ambivalentest of timelines.
Eh, my dad is a pretty devout Muslim, avoids pork, prays five times a day, but still enjoys the occasional beer with me frequently (and could indeed tell anybody loads about Islam if they asked to learn more about it). Not too many people outside of religious compounds and fundamentalist regimes are anywhere near…
Ballast Point also does a Habanero version of Sculpin that shows up occasionally on draft and cask. I despite heat and pepper in beer so I can't even look at it, but it has a definite cult following.
I blame myself for TI going so long without a beer thread lately; I just cannot get used to this thing being posted at 10am.
Using this free space to whine a bit. I had a pair of invites to the Arrested Development premiere gala on Monday at Grauman's Chinese Theater. Awesome. Except despite getting there an hour early, we got shut out. Apparently people started lining up way early, and the line reached capacity hours before. Also there…
