I did try the Vixnu and thought it was interesting but didn't blow me away. It's just tough giving a fair shake to any import IPA or IIPA though since they necessarily have a freshness disadvantage to all the locals.

We switched from a French press to an Eva Solo at home, which is a very simple extractor with a wide base and filter funnel for total immersion.  Produces a great brew, with a bit less oils than a press pot but a better depth of flavor IMO.

High West is absolutely amazing.  My liquor store had bottles of the 21-yr back in stock this week and I was so tempted, but I just couldn't bring myself to drop the amount they were asking.  High West in general is my favorite distillery but the 21 year is probably my favorite whiskey I've ever tasted.
