NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA NA HODOOOORRR!!

All are still really fun acts to catch.  Danger Bob is as close as you can get to seeing They Might Be Giants in a tiny club.  I saw a Fakebook reunion show some time ago on New Year's Eve; it wasn't Lawrence, it was the Riot Room in Westport, which was pretty great because how many others music venues can you drink

Glad you liked that one!

I'm glad I'm not the only one apparently way out of the loop.  Grew up in Kansas, spent my formative years seeing indie rock acts like Danger Bob, the Anniversary, and Ultimate Fakebook at the Bottleneck and Granada in Lawrence, but these guys don't a ring a bell for me.  I'll definitely check them out though.

I tried the new Black Racer from Bear Republic and thought it was quite tasty, although it could have used more aroma hops.

That sounds like an awesome tasting.  Lunch, as well as Zoe and the Peeper, really blow me away whenever I have them (we don't get Maine Brewing out here in SoCal of course, but I try to grab some whenever I'm on the East Coast).

@TheMogul:disqus Guillotine is a retired beer from Brouwerij Hughe, which also brews Delirium Tremens and will be somewhat similar to that but with less spice notes, a bit more citrus and a lot more sediment.

It's not a big laugh line, but I was always highly amused by Skinner's beaming endorsement of Luigi's place, "They'll make a pizza pie with the topping of your choice!" as if that in itself is some kind of incredible novelty.

I have had it with this school, Skinner! The low test scores, class after class of ugly, ugly children.

Aren't we forgetting the most realistic baseball movie of them all, The Scout?  Wherein the protagonist closes the film by performing the perfectly feasible feat of striking out all 27 opposing batter on 81 consecutive strikes?

They're all terrible.  What on earth is wrong with all of you?

I can't say I blame him.  I'm not a big fan of that much of Jesse's work, but I doubt it would have bothered him (or other article subjects) if the negative comments were constructive or even the least bit respectful; instead, they were largely things like talking about "punchable" his face is, how unbelievable it is

I realize this is like asking "Is the sky blue?" or "Does anybody here enjoy The Wire?" but is anyone else having Disqus issues?  It's telling me I have 0 comments and while I'm no mathemagician, I'm pretty sure that's inaccurate.

One of these day, Alice: BANG! ZOOM! Straight to the wonder!

I did visit Durham for a Bulls game on my last visit and had a fantastic time, from both a sports fan and a film fan perspective.  I wish attending an MLB game was even half as much fun as attending a minor league game in NC.

We do get Mikkeler, and I'm generally a fan but not as much of some of their newer, more gimmicky beers - first wave stuff like Big Bad, Big Worse and Beer Geek Breakfast are still great though.

My hometown - enjoy!  The touristy thing is to do the Plaza and the P & L, but if you haven't been I recommend checking out the Crossroads (Grinders, the Brick) and Waldo (Waldo Pizza, any of the ubiquitous bars) neighborhoods, and the obligatory bender night in Westport.

The Inspectress and I are heading to North Carolina in a couple weeks - Asheville mostly, but probably some time in Raleigh and Greensboro too.  It's mostly a brewery visiting trip (NC has a fantastic brewing culture) but I suppose we'll do a few non-beer things too if anybody has any recommendations.

If we really want to class it up, let's change "cum" to "qumb."

Ancient American secret, eh?
