Kirk Cameron is doing a remake of the Futurama episode Godfellas?

Hannibal (the tv show) did it pretty well when it explored Hannibal's childhood in the most roundabout way (such that it was shrouded in perhaps even more mystery).

Clone Wars often accomplished more in 22 minutes than the entirety of one of the prequels.

There's always a canal.

I've been feeling fairly down lately (damn 5 o'clock sunset!), and I've been treating that by headbanging and dancing to No Sleep Til Hammersmith, so this news comes as a real bummer. I shall rock out with great solemnity next time I cue the record up.

Snowpiercer was pretty good. But 2001? In theatre? In 70 mm? You might as well have paired up a decent brut to a 1893 Veuve Clicquot.

Theoretically, right now, if you go to any of several "legal" websites, as it aired about an hour and a half ago.

But in Times Square now, there's Guy Fieri's restaurant!

You sound sad. Do you need a hug?

It's weird, but I always think of Fire Coming Out Of The Monkey's Head as a fucked up skit from A Prairie Home Companion.

It's been a busy week, but much of the business comes from reading! For pleasure, I've been tucking into Le Guin's Rocannon's World.

"How do you do a spoken word version of a rap song?"
"He found a way."

Welshie will be replacing Doohan.

The AV Club has been getting better, too. Except when it comes to hip-hop. In that regard they somehow know less than Pitchfork.

Yeah, Stereogum, Paste, The Quietus, and, hell, even SPIN aren't terrible. But I think we can all agree Rolling Stone is the worst.

There once was a show called Outsourced
Which was less appetizing than borscht
Everything was so racist
Without any basis
Plus all the humor was forced

Pitchfork is significantly better, but they're also covering a lot more mainstream albums, which, ironically, probably need to be taken down a peg by outrageous, outsider pretension. Generally, Pigeons & Planes is pretty good for rap news; No Smoking Media is good for really under the radar stuff; CVLT Nation is
