I'm not swearing off Marvel, because I'm sure there will be a few good books that sneak through, but I am remarkably uninterested in anything Secret Wars related, or any post Secret Wars announcements.

Yes, but they're usually not so nasty and snotty. Are they still supposed to be teenagers? Why is Dust being a mean bitch?

Extraordinary X-Men is written by Jeff Lemire, and that's good.
But it's drawn by Humberto Ramos, and that's bad.
Uncanny X-Men is written by Cullen Bunn, and that's good.
But it's drawn by Greg Land, and that's very, very bad.
And I have very little interest in baby X-men and Wolverines, so not a whole lot to look

That's a good question. Now, in another book I would assume that they are two different people (they look like a priest and his minion), but this is a Liefeld product so things like details and consistency are not required.

Wow, that is some classic Liefeld on the Covenant cover. Let's see, we've got the bared teeth with no lips, random lines all over the face, very puzzling anatomy in the chin area, and, of course, no feet.

I reread a big chunk of Exiles, in tribute to all the destroyed Marvel universes. Sniff.

What!? More information, please!

This is disappointing to read, as I have Blacksad sitting on my shelf, and I rather enjoyed Blacksad: Amarillo.

It's not on Marvel Unlimited, and probably never will be. Marvel doesn't add any of the more explicit comics, because there's no age verification on MU.

I can't tell if you're joking, but Michael definitely is.

The title's actually Apocalyptigirl which is…unfortunate.

Slashfilm had a very thorough and amusing retrospective of Vincent Chase's film career. He apparently only really made like 2 movies over the course of the entire show.

"Wake me up when it's over" sums up my feelings about Secret Wars. Normally I'm actively irritated during events, but this time I don't even seem to care.

I finished the first part of Christopher Priest's Black Panther run (through issue 49). Priest gets really, really heavy on the plot and exposition in the final issues and it was a little tiresome to read. There was apparently some kind of reboot after this where BP becomes a cop, but I'm not sure I'll continue

Ha! Spider-man's dog rump is pretty funny, too.

I started Christopher Priest's Black Panther run, which so far reminds me of 90s era crime movies, with the time jumps and overly clever narration. It's good so far, but Everett K. Ross is one of the most annoying audience surrogates I've ever encountered.

"Early" is kind of a key modifier. Bendis' tics and tricks weren't so well worn then. Plus he was writing independent or new hero books, not the established team books where a lot of his weaknesses show through.

B'wana is Swahili for "sir" or "boss". And the original B'wana Beast was some white guy with a magical African potion and powers. So…yeah.

Oh man, I loved the Batman Adventures comics. I loved them so much, I'll probably buy all the trades, even though I've still got all the singles packed away.
