I wonder how patient she'll be in the sequel, when she's operating on 2 hours of sleep and the protagonist is freaking because the house is all out of order and the baby is not responding to logic.

I haven't read the expanded version, but the original "Here" is generally considered a seminal comic, and can be read here: http://digitalcommons.imsa….

Stjepan Sejic is the new Rat Queens artist. I'm not familiar with him, but he apparently has a fantasy background, so that's encouraging.

Apparently, Wertham decided that comics were bad influences because the youthful offenders he worked with all read comics, and somehow he didn't notice that EVERYONE read comics back then.

His post history is private, so yes, he is a coward.

I didn't get "really liked it" from her review. She goes into depth about the movie's many problems. She's just slightly more tolerant of the bullshit parts than Dowd is, and that allows her to enjoy the good parts.

One of the towers has to be Orthanc, since the book is focused on the actions of Saruman. And Barad-dûr is, as His Holiness states above, where the flaming eye-thingy is located.

Barad-dûr in Mordor (Sauron's headquarter's) and Orthanc in Isengard (Saruman's headquarter's).

The Snowpiercer graphic novels were originally published in French.

Jeff Smith's Bone is a classic. And Howtoons is a really fun book that combines comics and crafty projects.

I'm glad Sugar Skull holds up with the other two; it's disappointing when artists can't find a good way to end things.

Shill!

Does anybody actually enjoy GotG? The only time I see it mentioned is people complaining about how terrible it is. I never bothered trying it because I don't care for Bendis (Bendis, you don't like Bendis? No, I don't like Bendis)*, but most people seem to like his writing.

The web interface is terrible; if you don't have a tablet (preferably a 10-in) don't even bother. The MU apps have their quirks but are usable.

Volume 1 left me with many, many questions. I wish I'd waited for an omnibus so I could read the whole thing at once; it might make more sense then. It's a pretty odd book, and I'm not sure where DeConnick is going with it.

Rat Queens is so good. Just a really fun comic.

No, not just you. I don't dislike the series, but I'd like it much more if it wasn't drawn with scratchy colored pencils.

*jaw drops*
Whoa. Just out of curiosity, when did you read Sandman? Because when I read it (in the mid-nineties),it pretty much showed me that comics could be more than silly superheroes.
