Yay Roma! I don't think there is a kind of film I love more than 70s Fellini. Even Casanova!

True Stories and Naked are without a doubt the worst and second-worst TH albums, but that's mostly due to inconsistency. They both still have some brilliant stuff on them.

"And She Was", "(Nothing But) Flowers", "Don't Worry About the Government", annnnnnd pretty much every other song as well. It'd be faster to list the songs I don't like! ("Hey Now", side 2 of Naked)

I keep forgetting AT is still going, since it feels like forever since the last episode. It's only been 1/2 a year, but soooo much has happened since then it feels like another century…

Interesting. I was wondering if there was a precursor to AT I was unaware of, and now I know! Is Flapjack worth watching for a fan of its progeny?

Why is SpongeBob on the list but not Adventure Time? I'd argue Adventure Time's appeal and influence is far greater and wider, considering it seems to have set off a mini-revolution in indie animation. Plus, it led to Steven Universe and Over the Garden Wall - that's three great shows for the price of one!

There's a restaurant on Sullivan's Island, SC called The Obstinate Daughter, and they have a farro salad w/ chicken that involves brussel sprouts, peanuts, balsamic, and truffle oil, and it's perhaps the most delicious thing I've ever eaten. (If you're ever vacationing in the Charleston area, be sure to check it out,

What are your favorite chords?

Earthling is one of my favorite Bowie albums. The drum'n'bass influence used to sound dated, but now I think it's looped around to sounding retro-cool. Plus, "I'm Afraid of Americans"!

I saw F for Fake a couple months ago. Some of it is fascinating, but my main impression after watching it was "Boy does Orson Welles think highly of himself." I mean, the last 20 minutes is basically "look how hot my girlfriend is. look at her. wow. what was I saying? Oh yeah, film is a lie"

It's bizarre how the show tried to make Geordi romantically clueless and sort of creepy. It doesn't really gel with how super-competent and amiable his character is. Barclay's creepiness and cluelessness were at least pretty decently and consistently explained. But we're supposed to believe that LeVar Burton has

I've seen 42!

I watched the first three episodes of The Get Down, which I liked a lot. Though I wish Baz Lurhmann directed all the episodes - the episodes after the pilot still look good, but the direction is too "professional". Just veteran TV directors doing a professional TV director's job. I demand the over-the-top operatic

Hmmm, I have been following the Atlas Path, and I didn't even know there were red and blue stars! I'll have to try just bopping around systems to see what I see.

I've been playing Headlander, which is a lot of fun and looks great. (No surprise for a Doublefine game.) I've also been playing a bit of No Man's Sky each day, which I'm more conflicted on. I can't decide if I think it's boring and pointless, or beautiful and fascinating. Maybe a little of both I guess? It's an

Ooo I just finished The Dispossesed last month; it's really good. The scifi elements and world building were really well done, and I like that it explored socialism positively without being totally uncritical or disingenuous. It's a little random, but I kept thinking about it in comparison to Ayn Rand - where Rand

Field Music is great! I especially like Tones of Town - so many super catchy songs on that one. You might also like School of Language, which is a side project of one of the band members, but still sounds a lot like Field Music.

No one mentioned the Beach Boys!

I liked it a lot as a game, but I don't think it will translate super well from game to movie. (Does anything?) For one thing, the "rewind and try other timelines" mechanic was a big part of the appeal. And while the story and acting were very good when judged against games, I feel like they're only slightly above
