It is really our last leading industry. It will be interesting to see if China (which obviously has a huge internal audience for its movies) will ever become an entertainment powerhouse elsewhere. I saw the Chinese SF movie “Wandering Earth” in the US, but it was at an indie art theater rather than a megaplex, even

“... but what’s the alternative? Should you not put shutters next to double or triple units?”

I think you would go with different shutters. Down in the Myrtle Beach area, the Bahama shutter is a popular style, even on commercial properties. That would be better for the double/triple window set up.

Ah yes, Reply Guys, known here on AVC as ‘the greys’.

I honestly don’t understand why shutters are used if they’re not actually meant to cover the windows anyhow. That’s what they were used for back in the day, right?

He is correct on these traditional shutter misfires, but when I went onto his site he flagged this playful look for a beach house. C’mon! There is nothing wrong with having a little fun in life.  You get a red circle from Alien Jesus!

Are we going to get Ward?

I feel like at some point, we’re going to get Ward.

I realize it’s the final season, and we’re in DGAF territory (Agent Carter went there too), and I watch superhero TV shows, but... Nathaniel Malick makes no sense to me.  So he’s going to be like Thanos, instead of carrying Infinity Stones he’s going to walk around with stolen glands inside him?  Ludicrous, man.  Not

Up till now, Yo-Yo’s powers mimicked her actions right before her original trauma—running out of the closet and back to base again before anyone could see her. Once May forced her to process that trauma and guilt, it opened the way to a new freedom of movement, both physically and mentally. It wasn’t about her

Nathaniel and Cora stand over a group of bound Inhumans, Nathaniel practically salivating at the abilities he’ll harvest from the people in front of him.

Insert joke about that being the healthiest option on the RR menu here.

No Roku is a deal breaker for me and I told HBO Max that when cancelling before being charged. I don't care who they think is right and wrong in their contract negotiations. They're all evil corporations and I'm not changing hardware for a streaming service.

I think that the critical aspect of requiring that it be a sundae is that you have to sit down and eat it with a spoon out of a dish. This is what makes it dinner-worthy, as opposed to walking around holding the ice cream with your hand.

There are some absolute gems beyond what’s listed in the article in the free tier. Topsy-Turvey, Bernie, Vertigo, Dead Ringers. That’s probably on purpose. In two months time a lot of movies will have moved over to pay.

I posted this on What’s On Tonight, but didn’t see a lot of this in the article, so:

I’ll accept it.

—the ice cream must always be sundaes, never cones—

I have a very fond memory of being at a restaurant on a vacation trip as a child, announcing that I wanted the hot fudge brownie sundae for dinner, and having my parents say “okay”, to my surprise and delight. It was at a Red Robin in the SeaTac area, about 35 years ago, if I remember correctly.

No wonder the evil grandparents are onto her.

Ah, Titans. What’s so infuriating to me is that it doesn’t even have the decency to be outright bad. Every week there was just a little something that made me go, “Well shit, I gotta tune in next week to find out where that goes.”
