My bespoke Chex mix is hand made by my sister, and it’s lovely. That’s the only thing I use that word for.

Garlicky, I freaking hate that word. I cringe a little every time I read it. Maybe it’s because for years I had a garlic sensitivity so bad that I could spend the whole day either in bed or on the toilet if I had some.* Maybe it’s the extraneous k. I don’t know what it is, but I loathe and detest that word. Please…
I once got yelled at by my boss for not pulling apart her club sandwich and checking to make sure they didn’t put mayo on it.
I’ve said this before, but my dad only cooked two things, bacon & eggs basted in bacon grease and popcorn covered in butter and salt. He made both expertly and covered both in serious amounts of grease and salt.
So, I’m always driving home during the first half of the show and catch up with it the next day. Normally that’s fine and I don’t miss too much. But this week it was sufficient to make me think/hope/worry that it was Dr. Fate’s mask with a new look that had possessed Cecile. I was both let down and relieved to learn I…
I like Lana, she’s smart and strong and a great character, but I really wish the penny had dropped for her this week. That whole, “Nothing strange has happened here in so long. Why is it happening again?” Should have been followed up with, “Not since you moved away, Clark. Wait? . . .” But no, that would make too much…
In Supergirl it was also only one boy. Crisis did it.
I’m not sure what the planned continuity was, but I’ve just been assuming Kara was stuck in the phantom zone this whole time. It’s an easy enough way to explain not contacting her.
The best use of Bugles is to cover them in chocolate, milk is better in my opinion because the extreme saltiness of Bugles needs the sweetness of milk chocolate as a contrast.
I tend to think Gary will be relieved.
If true, I can’t wait for Lita to find out and her inevitable team-up with Spooner.
Brown is my favorite. He plays him as a sophisticated thug, which should be an oxymoron but he makes it work, especially when the veneer slips and the thug shows. How I wish someone had let him play Luthor live action!
Pretty sure that’s fried bread, not toast, and it’s part of an English breakfast. I only did it once, decided to go back to toast. It’s a bit much with the bacon, banger, egg and beans as well.
Number one for me has to be Korean Odyssey on Netflix. It’s a modern setting take on Journey to the West which is far better than it has any right to be. Not only does it manage to be more accurate to the book than I imagined, they clearly learned all the right lessons on how to structure a season of genre TV. And I…
I definitely seen that here. I’m not a regular Starbucks customer. There were years I never went, but when I have a headache I just can’t shake, a latte usually does it. The one nearest my home has been randomly shut at various times and not taking app orders even when open. I assume it’s COVID staffing issues. The…
I would have had less contempt for him if he’d been honest and just complained that William and Harry were stealing his bit. If he’d called them amateurs into the bargain, I might have started approaching respect.
I know that’s conventional wisdom, but Tyler Hoechlin is really winning me over.
I was so excited to take my mom to see Man of Steel. She’d read the first issue of Superman as a kid, so taking her to the 75th anniversary movie was special. I can say it wasn’t as disappointing as when I took her to Justice League, but that’s about all I can say.
Well, now I need to watch Battle Royale again. It’s one of the three DVDs that made me buy a region free player, and I did love it. But then I read the book and it was so much better! I figured I would be disappointed if I watched the film again. That clip makes me think enough time has passed for me to enjoy it for…
The heroine in a couple books I read, The Girl with Ghost Eyes and the sequel whose name escapes me, uses a rope dart. I sort of had an idea how it worked, but this is the first time I got a good look at it. It’s great, and will help me visualize her bad-assery even better.
