I'm in a similar boat to you—it's got to be something pretty terrible for me to stop enjoying someone's work. We're all flawed and we all suck sometimes, and I think folks should speak up when an artist/athlete/whatever goes too far—because, let's face it, as members of the human community, these dialogues are

And this is why, even though he can be a jerk, I still dig Harmon. That apology was fast.

@avclub-ec6e411553d04950c3225c1fbdc8d116:disqus C'mon, that was hardly self righteous. If you think that was self righteous you either a) have never actually seen a full on display of self righteousness or b) you're reacting defensively. From the transcript I read, it appeared that, yeah, Harmon said something

Except that the context of Tosh's rape joke actually MAKES IT WORSE.

I know a lot of you are into Yeezus. Here's my insane, rambling review in which I talk about how great the album is while grappling with its transgressive nature:  http://thefiddleback.com/_b…

I'm salivating over both Things to Come and Safety Last. Also, is Nashville for sure?

This does restore a bit of hope.

HURRY UP WITH MY DAMN CROISSANT, CROISSANT!

Between your review and the Badass Digest essay I read today about the film, I'm growing increasingly less excited to see this. Still going on Tuesday, though.

Update—found a picture of the CD online, and the credits list it as Nina Simone's performance. So….no crossover afterall.

Elsewhere I'm reading that it is, in fact, Nina Simone's version of the song. Huh…can't wait to see the full credits for this album.

Speaking of Eartha Kitt…

Blood on the Leaves' mixture of Eartha Kitt (at least I think it's her version…not 100%) and TNGHT is stunning. Also, the smash cuts on Bound. These are probably my favorite two production moments of the year, easily.

Yeah—I'm really at a loss as to why so many people moved on from that album so quickly. The only reason I slowed down on listening to it is I've had a string of other things I've been excited about in the review queue (Vampire Weekend, Boards of Canada, Saturday Looks Good to Me, and now Kanye), and I tend to try to

Dude—these folks don't waste time. I set the deadline for my review at Monday—figured I should take at least a couple of days.

As a man who was somewhat recently in his 20's, I can't say I disagree with Mr. Delaney. Not that men in their 30's are that much better.

Exactly. And this is why I start zoning out for the last 30 minutes of most action films. Although, if I'm at home I have to pay attention long enough to know if I need to take a drink because the fight is happening on a scaffolding or catwalk of some sort and/or the villain dies by falling from a great height.

Deep Space Nine's fifth season is among its strongest. As is Mystery Science Theater 3000's.
