I think it's also important to note that while the Beach Boys did have some highs that rivaled and/or surpassed The Beatles highs, The Beatles never reached the mid/late career horror into which the Beach Boys descended. The Beatles don't have a Love You or a horrific denouement in which George tried to keep the band

Song of the year? Probably.

Yeah, I just saw the TVBTN discussion above and this reminded me of it—obviously stuff like Katie Perry or whatever would be more like the Big Bang Theory, I guess, but from an "Alt Rock" perspective, these are still the top tier as far as selling stuff goes. There is no explanation for Silverchair being on any

This list is the TVBTN of music lists.

Holy crap. Nashville might be my favorite film of all time. If that happens…well…I might just do a cartwheel.

I'm finding more to like than I expected, but everytime "Kid Charlamagne" gets to the "Did you realize…" part, all I can hear is Kanye.

Crap—I'm going on a Steely Dan bender right now. I'm not crazy about Steely Dan, but I started reading the 33 1/3 book on Aja for my review series on all of the 33 1/3 books. Unfortunately, the dude who wrote the book is constantly referencing every other 70's Steely Dan release, so I'm playing catch up and…weird,

I don't necessarily disagree with Busis—but she also reminds me of the people I know who complain that "Gravity's Rainbow" is pretentious, dismiss experimental music as self-indulgent, and describe experimental fiction as "gimmicky."

Gold Soundz
Stop Breathin'
Perfume-V
Unseen Power of the Picket Fence
Summer Babe

I think you just explained the benefits. We'll be entering the golden age of slapstick realism.

Nah—here's the thing. If you ignore the details, the characters end points after season 4 aren't all that weird or out of character, and the broad strokes that got them there are believable enough.

And for the music-y parts of the internet, just replace Game of fucking Thrones with Boards of fucking Canada. The internet is pretty focused, today.

I heard there are State Department memos debating on whether or not to refer to blame Harmon's dismissal on a YouTube video or terrorists. Also, one leaked memo refers to Harmon's firing as a "temporary hiatus." I heard it on FOX NEWS!

The animal carer in you should be happy for that dog because it seems to be having a jolly ole time.

Yeah—I think sometimes critics lose sight of the big picture. I remember several critics tweeting about how quickly the new Justin Timberlake LP had been forgotten when half the people I know were just buying it and starting to listen to it.

Oh, I about did a backflip when I saw it, and I even knew it was coming because TV's Frank tweeted about it before I got that far in AD>

Huh—any chance Todd'll be able to wrangle that Season 3 walkthru now <ducks and="" runs="">? If so, Harmon should do a Season 4 walkthru too.

As much as I liked this place before Harmon's departure, I had a really hard time getting motivated to stop by and read comments during Season 4. Since the possibility of Harmon's return came up, I've been checking in a couple of times a day again.

My wife and I are going slowly, but that's more because we were already doing a rewatch of The Fringe, so we're watching an ep or two of each a night. So far I'm basically enjoying AD, but I'm not blown away. We just finished episode 3 and it was definitely my favorite so far.

The greatest irony of all: the one show NBC *wants* to destroy it can't!
