Not-surprisingly, though, a Phish smells about as good as a fish.

I would see the shit out of a P.T. Anderson Axe commercial.
Thanks!
I'll post the K.L. review when it goes up. I just sent it to my editor tonight, so I'm not sure when it'll go live.
Thanks!
I've been away for a long time. That's not really a big deal since I've always been a bit more peripheral in my involvement. That being said, I feel strange being away for so long. I've been spending my time preparing for my dissertation defense (FRIDAY!), reading Nate Silver's blog (TUESDAY!) and applying for jobs…
Oh man—that's a tough call. Let me give it some thought and dig out some dusty records from the olden times.
Jessica Bailiff—nice.
So…Family Ties for a new generation?

Hey everyone, I know some of you were talking about doing year end lists here, but if anyone wants to be involved with another list (as well, of course), our lit journal is doing a list of our own. The more lists we get the better: http://thefiddleback.com/_b…
Not really. That could compromise its ability to eventually be published. Sorry. Some of the stories from it are out there in various journals, or will be soon. But prospective publishers tend to frown on all or parts of a manuscript being shared on the internet.
It's kind of a bummer, but you know.
Yeah, I'm always on the fence about the before/after the new year. The site I write for ends up going way too early due to our publication schedule. We get either 12/1 or 2/1. By February 1, everyone tends to have moved on to the next year, so we opt for early instead.
So, my short story collection was a finalist for a contest run by a small, university press that I really love. I keep drifting back and forth between being excited to have been honored as a finalist, but frustrated to have gotten so close and not made the cut.
The whole album is quite good. I'm not sure if I like it as much as her last album, but it's already growing on me in leaps and bounds. And Laura…well—Laura might just be my song of the year. It's a stunner.
Mine was a used copy of The Last Temptation of Christ. My second was Rushmore.
I second Badlands.
Seriously, these are always a pleasure to read. You should archive them somewhere as I suspect I've missed several.
