I finished season 2 of Louie today. Damn. I'm not sure I've ever encountered a show that manages to be so dark and humane at the same time. Bring on season 3!

Agreed—the darkness of the lyrics is part of what makes the album so effective. Late last year/early this year there was news of a vinyl release of the "trilogy." I'm pretty bummed it hasn't materialized yet.

Did you read Film Critic Hulk's response? I enjoyed the movie for what it was (not it what it wanted to be) but it was deeply, deeply flawed. You hit on some key reasons, but Film Critic Hulk's response was just…well, it was magic.

I haven't gotten to "Duckling" yet, but I liked "Pregnant" a ton. Of the first four eps of S2, "Bummer/"Blueberries" is probably my favorite. "Pregnant" could edge it out with time.
