Have you seen "Off The Air" on adult swim?  In my opinion, that show would beat Wonder Showzen in a psychedelic-off

In my opinion, i think people are being too sensitive about what Harmon said.
Mr. Picklebuneyes
Compared to taking Harmon's show and making money off of mutating his ideas, cancelling the show is the classier move.

I feel like Harmon's entitled to his opinion, especially when given on his own podcast.  I also feel like av club commenters are entitled to their opinions. Taking a show from the person who wrote it seems wrong (just cancel it), and hurting people's feelings should be avoided.  Harmon apologized for hurting people's

Stalin has firsties on combining marxism and fascism

That was one of the episodes where I noticed Jeselnik laughing pretty hard at the panelists' jokes.  It seems like he can appreciate anti-comedy (because Kindler made him laugh) so I hope he continues to invite a lot of good alternative comics to do his panel.

Between 1981 and 1997, Sonic Youth's discography was great.  In my opinion, "early" Sonic Youth is a way better alternative rock band than U2, REM, and The Talking Heads in the same period.

I don't hate U2, or any band. I dislike mediocrity because I feel the degree that it is accepted in an artform correlates with the level of artistic integrity in that artform (i.e. if techno musicians make art that lacks novelty or is otherwise artistically compromised, people that enjoy art with a high level of

I thought it was gonna be a cool show when I heard about the basic idea of it.  Now that it's out I root for the Red Army one hour a week.

Easy Rider.

OK.  I admit i'm high, and also far from the best judge of trash (as rap is most often playing in my headphones, followed by indie-rock, then jazz).
But does no one enjoy the first Megadeth album "Killing is my Business"?  I like how messy it is & "Skull Beneath the Skin" is a fun song, right?

I like Megadeth more than Metallica, and would've recommended "Killing is my Business", "Rust in Peace", and "Countdown to Destruction"  before "Peace Sells" (though the title track is good, & has a mad nostalgic bassline).

Vordul Megallah was always better than Vast Aire to me.  Vast's solo work needs to be picked through to find cool songs like "When Adversity Strikes" & "Cholesterol".  Vordul's solo albums and collaborative work with Billy Woods, have more good songs and a more positive and cohesive social message.

if you compare the latest songs Can Ox did, "From the Planet of Eat" (prod by El-p) and AK-47 (prod by Opto, an old atoms family affiliated beatmaker)  i think you'll find el-p's work sub-standard.

the intro was alright to me.  i guess i'm definitely in the camp that sees both that the show is realistic and that nearly all the characters act in an ego-centric (narcissistic) fashion.

i thought the point of the article was more toward "policing" bad audience members by recounting their actions and describing how idiotic and egocentric those actions were.  if one person is dissuaded from drunkenly interrupting a show in an unsolicited or otherwise stupid manner, this article will have had a

Their cover of The Germs' "Lexicon Devil" is enjoyable.

which character is the least self-absorbed?

Tom Kenny and Jill Talley were married before they were on Mr. Show and are still married.  Tom's pretty successful.

i always thought her relationship with Matt Besser was better and more fruitful.  i also consider earlyish UCB alumnists (like The League's Jason Mantzoukas) their pseudo-children.
