Jenga? Envy. Most of the grad parties I've gone to have involved considerable amounts of alcohol and self-loathing. But that's the liberal arts for you.

Heh we should all just go out to a field somewhere, get drunk, and set things on fire out of frustrated solidarity. Who's with me?!?! It won't accomplish shit, but by God it would be fun!
Nah, Fritzy, there just seems to be a general pall about these days. Maybe it's the economy, maybe it's other things, but regardless of the source I'm noticing it, too. If I actually knew you I'd buy you a sympathy beer - what you're going through sounds like my last September, only I had to toss in a prolonged…
Ugh my apologies for the double post. It said something like there was an error. Guess it happens to everyone at some point, eh?
I've done both as well, Albtraum, and I didn't really find teaching terribly fulfilling. I think it really takes a special type of personality to have a love and passion for teaching, and I just don't have that. Copyediting and proofreading just seems to be a better fit for me, but I can definitely see how some people…

Ellie -
Only to the attendees who've already passed out drunk ;-)
Copyediting is by far preferable to teaching - I don't care if it's Decider, Onion, or AV Club. It's not teaching. I didn't go to school for teaching. I went so I could go into editing, publishing, and/or copyediting.
Thanks for asking that, Jerry. I'm interested in seeing what response you get. I've been looking for a job like this since May.
Oh man…
This makes me wish I was able to move out of Houston before July. CURSE YOU, TIMING!!!
I second Aladdin! The level when the Cave of Wonders collapsed was a frustrating blast!
Interesting that you brought up penis envy as a parallel. Wouldn't thinking of it in those terms make this type of behavior something more ingrained into human behavior rather than a gender construct? Not trying to be a bitch or anything, just curious about your perspective :)
Not all women are like that, though, but I agree that way too many are. I actually thought this commercial was a little insulting in that regard. Just reinforces the stereotype that we're all motivated by making other women jealous and that any man who doesn't cater to that desire ought to be castrated. But that's…
Aw
Surprised nobody has really commented on Dwight's little buttslap on Kelly. That was amusing.
Glad to know I wasn't the only one who flashbacked to "Brokeback Mountain" when Michael was fondling the sweater.
Mr. Science you need a "The More You Know!" shooting star over your head. Thanks for sharing! Though I admit I was getting a little tingly over the thought of Bruce Campbell in a flirtaciously unbuttoned lion-faced shirt.
There have been rumors that Bruce Campbell may play Kraven the Hunter in a later Spider-Man movie. Obviously they need to be taken with a grain of salt, but that would still be pretty badass to see. Heh and if you think of all his characters as one man just following Peter Parker around it adds an extra dimension of…
@Soggy Cereal Yeah, the ice cream kind! I didn't realize that mochi came in a non-frozen state until I looked it up just now. The ones with ice cream are only kind I've eaten, so I (wrongly!) came to think that's all there was to mochi. Heh I feel like a putz for not knowing.
@KaratIoz Heh I have a signed copy of "If Chins Could Kill" where he makes the claim that I "make [his] boomstick VERY happy!!" It's pretty much my prized possession.
