Yep. I basically agree with the review. It's a very engaging, funny episode, but there's not a ton of depth to it, which is fine every once in a while.

A little song, a little dance, a little seltzer down your pants.

Yeah, those comparisons are dead-on. But it's not just 30 Rock - MTM seems to have given character templates to a lot of shows.

I think Season 4 was the height of the show, as pretty much every great character was still around, but I certainly think the show did a great job of maintaining quality even as they lost major characters. I think they actually did a better job with that than Cheers did.

I completely agree. The thing is, there are shows that have strong central relationships between a man and a woman that aren't romantic. Look at Mary Richards and Lou Grant, Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson, Jack Donaghy and Liz Lemon. Although, I guess, in those examples, the other characters have external romantic…

Yeah, maybe. I just looked at the episode list, though, and Monday and Arcadia were right next to each other. I think both of those are really good. And like with Drive and Triangle, those two are very different episodes.

Yeah, Tithonus is great. I'm a little lukewarm on Milagro, but it's been a while since I watched it, so I'll probably give it another chance soon.

I don't think Triangle is the last great episode. I think there's a lot of stuff in season 6 and even a few in season 7 that's really good. I don't even really think that it's the last good concept episode. How the Ghosts Stole Christmas is definitely a concept episode and I really like that one.

Principal and the Pauper… yeah, it's dumb, and it's a bad sign of things to come, but if you look at the episodes that came after it, it's far from the worst.
Yeah… Lisa's Sax is maybe the last truly great episode.
