Yeah… Lisa's Sax is maybe the last truly great episode.

This is seriously one of my favorite episodes. I can't think of too many episodes of any show that are as funny and as emotionally resonant as this one.

There are good episodes in Season 7 ("Hungry," "Orison," "Je Souhaite," "Closure,") but they're surrounded by a lot of crap. I think Season 8 is a lot more consistently good than Season 7, even if the highs are less high.

I mostly agree with you. I like certain parts of "Closure." I think I read somewhere once that it works really well as resolution if you ignore all the Samantha episodes besides maybe "Paper Hearts" and "Conduit." I think I agree with that. Like with most things on the show, the over-complexity of the arc eventually

Yeah - I disagree with O'Neal in that I find Clarice to be more interesting than Hannibal, but I agree in that this is definitely overkill. Also, it's on Lifetime, so there's no chance in hell of it being good.

I certainly don't dislike the original - in fact, I like it quite a bit - but it always felt a little bare-bones to me. I guess I just like the richer instrumentation on the new one.

Really? I think this version of Ne Me Quitte Pas is a bit more engaging than the original.

Yeah… it could work, eventually. I mean, Shoshanna is certainly sweeter than Marnie, and Ray is also more likable than Charlie. So… it could work. And I agree that they should put it off for a while/build up to it.

Didn't even notice that parallel there. Probably means it's doomed to fail/be a very one-sided relationship, as Charlie/Marnie was. But it could certainly end up being an inversion of that, as Shoshanna is definitely more needy than Marnie, and Ray seems less clingy than Charlie.

Okay, so I've mostly stayed out of this comments section because trying to respond to some of the more astounding misogyny here would just lead to me typing with incoherent rage.

I agree as well. We need to get as many non-assholes as possible making comments for this show.
