I've always thought that heroes were only as good as their villains, and I really think that's where DC outpaces Marvel.  You just can't beat the Joker, Lex Luthor, etc., for recognizable and strong villains.  Maybe Spider-Man's Rogues Gallery can stand up to the Flash, say, but not to Batman's, or even Superman's,…
