Since several are sharing their bummer show stories, I'll add that I saw the Pornos in DC in November, and they were fantastic - really high energy, amazing sound, it was great. Yeah, Bejar wandered on and off for his stuff, but it was more amusing than anything. And, I saw Neko solo down in Athens over the summer,

No, there's no such thing as AP Classics. There's AP Latin, but not Classics.

Oh come on, it's not like Jewel was a nobody flash in the pan. That first album moved 12 million copies. Even in the 90s, that wasn't nothing. Maybe 20 years on you have a tough time remembering any of the singles (You were meant for me, and Foolish Games are the only I can think of), but she's not nothing.

From the Choirgirl is definitely her best, followed by maybe a tie between Under the Pink and Boys, then Scarlet, Beekeeper, this new one, Little Earthquakes, and then we'll just stop there.

To be fair, "what's in it for us?" Well, again, how in the world would anyone guess that it would lay another moon, that the "shell" wouldn't destroy the Earth, and the effects of simply not having a moon at all would be absolutely devastating to millions of species, and us, on Earth.

I'm with you 100% - I have adored this season, and this episode was such a huge clunker for me. The conclusion of the episode in no way came close to redeeming the terrible writing and ridiculousness that came before it.

Come, friends, we must take the house of Judkins Major for ourselves!

Speaking of Luscious Jackson's side projects, I always really loved Trimble and Jill Cunniff's one-off, "Kostars: Klassics with a K." It was a great mellow album that I'll still put on every now and then. Wiggs was the engineer on that album, and that lead to Dusty Trails a few years later with Trimble.

I would have sworn she was gay.  She joked that an award she won should have been called "Best Female Vocalist" and I seem to remember she played a lot of Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls.  Very strange.

I live around DC, and I'm fairly happy with how DC is portrayed.  I can generally recognize everything. Some things take you out of it, of course. I was watching the first few episodes with a friend who works at the Kennedy Center, and we laughed at the "National Center for Performing Arts" which didn't look much

Instead of just listing media too extensive to dive into we should offer each other advice about where to really start so we don't have to suffer through the mediocrity?  For instance, Buffy: you could probably start with Surprise, Innocence, Becoming, and maybe one or two others from season 2, and go forward from

So, this is a big-screen remake of the Ulysses 31?

I wondered if the financial settlement was Clash's attorney's saying they would countersue, and they expected 6 figures out of the 23 year old for defamation.

The Light isn't a person, no, but I have to think it's pretty clear that their "Partner" is Darkseid.  Or, someone from Apokolips, at least.

I walked/drove by on my way to campus every day this summer, and there was never a soul there, it seemed.  We wondered if they were already closed.

I wasn't sure but I didn't think they had either.  I've been so confused whenever she refers to "McKenzie" but has been using everyone else's first names.
