I ended up watching the original version!  Wow, that was so stressful.  Ripley's the boss!!

You know, I think you're totally right about my favorite, the Ryan McGinley.  I definitely liked it despite its flaws.

Just want to say I appreciate that you took the time to type that out.  I actually LOL'd.

If it makes you feel better, I had no idea she was in Two and a Half Men.  I've seen her pop up in a number of indie movies, and she always delivers a good performance.

…If he's a pastor, does he write sermons?  I'm just curious about the poor writing skills.

If you asked me about the plot I couldn't tell you a single thing, but I remember really liking The Lonely Londoners… which of course I read in a Brit Lit class.  I wonder if anyone has picked up that book on their own accord?

I know!  I couldn't believe how funny the movie was.  I've heard the Coen Bros are interested in adapting his stuff, and I could totally see why.

@avclub-39df51c015ce671b473b8cf5a306d217:disqus   I can see why you'd find the Harry Hole series too serious, but I find the protagonist very comforting—since he's clearly based on American noir protagonists, it's like going on these adventures with someone you already know and trust.  I'd argue that the cases I've

Now I'm all conflicted.  I only got through the first 15 minutes before I gave up to go to sleep, should I switch it out and watch the original theatrical version instead?  I mean, the story totally makes sense in that original theatrical form, right?  I definitely don't want the pace to drag, either.  What say you?

Hurrah!  Employment!!

Oh, troublemaker.  You're wanting to start some serious nerdfights with this post.

Oh man, a very sympathetic character in The Redbreast died and I was so pissed about it.  I mean it gives Harry Hole depth and whatever, but still.  On the other hand, I'm glad I'm so sucked into the narrative that I give such a strong damn about fictional people!

Personally I'd put it over Ponyo and into the Top 5.

OHMYGOD PUPPIES!!!

LOL, I'm grateful that NBC was doing so poorly as a network that they couldn't afford to pull the plug on the show.  It's pretty incredible that the show lasted as long as it did, and even more so that it got a chance to run its course instead of being unceremoniously cancelled.
