If you're honoring requests…
THE KEEP

There is only one Tyrone Power…
Not to nitpick but it's just "Power," not "Powers."

just ten
Yo La Tengo - "Nowhere Near"
Neil Young - "Flying on the Ground is Wrong"
Skeeter Davis - "End of the World"
Zombies - "Imagine the Swan"
Kinks - "This Man He Weeps Tonight"
Jerry Lee Lewis - "Somewhere Over the Rainbow"
Beach Boys - "The Warmth of the Sun"
Palace Bros. - "Ohio Riverboat Song"
Blue Magic - "Sideshow"
E

David Gates…
…put out a few pretty cool rock n' roll craze singles in the early 60's ("I'm Snowed" is a personal fave), in addition to writing "Saturday's Child" for the Monkees.

HOT FUZZ
openend on less than half the number of screens as any of the other pics were in the top ten were playing and took the weekend on per screen average.

my bad
I just looked at my browser and realized that this isn't Myspace.

Thought so…
…talked to him for a while at a deck party in Brooklyn a few summers ago. Nice guy.

Hey -
didn't the guy with the burns and the ballcap that gets fired from the writer's room used to write for The Onion?

bullseye
I'm with OnVol and would add that -

Melcher
Keith - I'm guessing you and I were neck and neck on Melcher 411 until you pulled ahead by reading the Sly Stone book. Do tell. What I know - he formed Bruce and Terry ("Summer Means Fun" on the surf Pebbles LP) with Bruce Johnston, took over the Rip Chords ("Here I Stand" "Little Cobra") as staff producer

Cinepinion
It's the opening to KING OF MARVIN GARDENS, I think.

duh.
REALLY doubt that either are on DVD. Kinda doubt either are on CD.

para-softrock albums of note
Terry Melcher's s/t debut
Dennis Wilson's Pacific Ocean Blue

america's number one source for bylines
"Amelie Gillette"
"Noel Murray" and now
"Michaelangelo Matos"? Awes.

Topic 9
Saw it with my dad when it came out and I was so young that I just took it in completely at face value (Trident stabbing! Cool! The Godfather in a dress! Weird!). Needless to say that's changed with subsequent viewings. Is Brando really more unhinged in BREAKS than in LAST TANGO ? All I know is that I'll watch

Suit?
Is there a handy web resource outlining both sides in the Ellison/Fantagraphics suit?

Actual quote from cable network market research focus group:
"Showtime is like HBO's slutty daughter."

Nice tag
Wish I liked the movie more. I felt like it sold itslef out with pretty simple war movie plausibility problems like:

His "The Searchers" essay
anthologized in "The Dissapointment Artist" is glorious.
