We're two days removed from Premier's birthday (and Large Professor). If Phife had died THAT day? What a mix of emotions. Celebrate the births of two of the greatest, and mourn the loss of another legend.

I was a little turned off when the woman on Marauders was also the one auctioning off the women in "Taken", though. But hey, a job is a job, right?

Hip hop artists always claim to love sports, but not many are dropping Scott Skiles references…always respected the fuck out him for that.

I actually have come around to embrace this more than I ever thought I would. I'm 41, and started listening to hip hop in 1983, so I'm a Golden Era fanboy to the death. But I also realize that part of what makes Rakim the Greatest to me is that I heard him in context, and it's very difficult to convince today's

And then the next level he hits on Marauders…

"I like Low End!"
"I like Marauders!"
"Well, I respect that opinion!"
"As do I yours!"

All of those are stellar - I don't think harping on the 90% is the point, though. I agree that the majority of accessible rap sucks right now. The major difference is that songs like "Scenario" were highly visible once upon a time, and now you have to search for the real quality, something that the uninitiated will

I'm in the No Milk Posse. It brings out the subtle notes of the sugar, in whichever form.

Also, are we counting the Dukes of Hazzard movie as a Broken Lizard movie? I have to admit I hate myself for not hating it.

I don't think you can even count Puddle Jumpers - it was indeed terrible, but it looked like a student movie.

I don't hate Club Dread as much as most of this comment section does, but I definitely rank it last. However, Bill Paxton made me giggle. And Brittany Daniel was pleasant to look at. So, it gets a solid D+.

"Get your hooker's foot out of my raw chicken!" and "Well, one of us does, so…the end." will now be inserted into many conversations. The Glory of Charlie.

"Torpedo Juice", which was maybe the biggest laugh I had all night.

I like the Beastmaker track, although I wish it was just a *tad* more uptempo. I'll still check out the whole record, though.

When I first heard this, I knew two things to be true.

I know - I've lived in Tyngsboro and I currently live in Tewksbury. I want to be close to the danger, but can't commit.
(I can literally run to Boarding House Park, though, so I'll probably go.)

Don't forget the other great gag from that - Linus can't pronounce "agoraphobia". Also, no one knows who's on the $10 bill.

When I was in college as the hip hop director for the college radio station (University of New Hampshire - don't laugh, we were well respected), Soup was the college rep for Death Row. He sent us the demo of his new group, and we played the shit out of it. I met him years later at a meet & greet for Quality Control,

Resurrection is one of my 10 favorite hip hop albums ever. Almost perfect.

Nope - showed up in my Dropbox. Which I'm thankful for, because I would have been pissed if I paid a dime for this.
Someone up there said it best - stick to producing for a while. Or, have Rhymefest come back and write for you again (I continue to believe he had a heavy hand in College Dropout).
