Aaaand somebody answered my question two posts below. Never mind.

MONKEY HATE CLEAN

I've enjoyed the ones I've seen, but I think my favorite was New Frontier. I haven't seen Under the Red Hood yet, but i borrowed the DVD from a friend so maybe I'll see it this weekend.

I loved this show, especially the first few years. The episode about Election Day is pretty much etched on my soul, and led to me becoming an election judge years later. The whole thing sort of deflated around the time Joel left - not necessarily because of that, but it was around that time. I absolutely would read

They're both on my iPod, rescued from obscurity after I listened to them constantly for about two years.

MONSTER SQUAD isn't wall-to-wall kids going "AAAAAAAHHHHH!" That helps. Tom Noonan's performance as Frankenstein's Monster is really affecting, and his relationship with the little girl is very sweet. The kids generally are likable and clever. And the jokes are actually funny.

bah! Autopost!

They're not even close to good enough. I'm sure this movie is fun if you saw it when you're a kid, like my husband did, but when I watched it about a year ago I HATED it. It's about 90 minutes of screaming kids. It was like being trapped in line at Walmart for 90 minutes. For comparison's sake, I enjoyed

I thought Y was just okay. Considering most of the characters were women, they sure seemed like women who were being written by a guy.

I watched the show through Netflix and absolutely loved it. It made me cry at least once a season, and I laughed a lot.

Noel mentioned the line, but he didn't mention and possibly didn't realize the meta-humor of the Whedon connection. When I was posting, it hadn't been mentioned in the comments yet, although I see where a couple of people posted about it while I was in the process of typing my post. Simulposting is the price we pay

The fact that Willow and Tara were living in Buffy's house without paying rent was ridiculous. Freeloaders! Why couldn't Willow just magic up some cash? She should have done some of her internet magic and snagged a chunk of Halliburton's snacks budget to fund the household and slayage-related bills. Then Sunnydale

Trivia!
The reason Fred's dad says he didn't like the last Alien movie (ALIEN: RESURRECTION) is because Joss Whedon wrote the screenplay for it, which was heavily modified during production, so he hates that movie even more than everyone else in the world.

Apparently I buy books from my TV boyfriends. I have the "Chris in the Morning" book because Chris Stevens was exactly the sort of boyfriend I wanted when I was 18, back when Northern Exposure was still on the air. I also own the audiobook versions of the Dale Cooper autobiography and The Bro Code. Bro Code is funny

I think that's in the next episode, but it is a great scene.

The episode's score had a lot of elements that were similar to Peter Gabriel's score for LAST TEMPTATION as well. They didn't hit it as hard as GOODFELLAS or APOLLO 13, but it definitely was an homage.

I would watch the all-sea anemone Hawaii Five-O
But I won't be watching this. I just know it can't be that hard to write a non-ridiculous TV show, but here we are.

Ruby Dee?
Ruby Dee has been dead for about a decade. Alfre Woodard plays Lafayette's mother. Not all black women are the same person! For instance, Tara is played by an entirely different actress.

I'm in Houston! But I don't know if my weekend's going to allow for any plans. The in-laws are coming.

I'm not Vandermonde's sister either (probably!), but I'm also a sucker for dance movies. The cheesier the plot, the better, as long as there's not more plot than dancing. I'm totally seeing this one.
