Vern's book is excellent. It made me reconsider my decision to never, ever watch a Seagal movie. Now I've seen a bunch of them, and they're a hoot if approached in the right way. I'm actually looking forward to seeing this one because I love didacticism, even the hamfisted variety. And I love the original Billy Jack,

I saw Sliver in the theater!

Fitzgerald once wrote that inside, he felt he was really 50% woman. I don't think he was gay necessarily, but possibly bisexual. Nick, the narrator of Gatsby, is almost certainly gay, and probably Jordan Baker as well. That being said, I also don't quite get how that's what the counterculture was hinged on. I do love

I just want to know who pissed off Joss Whedon to the point where he wouldn't hire them again, as AB implies.

The first season is museum-quality awesome TV. The second season was not so great. The third season was much better than the second but not quite as good as the first. I don't care about football at all, but the show makes you care about the team's successes and failures because you care about how it affects each of

Psych is a lot of fun. MUCH lighter than Burn Notice, it's a comedy first and an Encylopedia Brown-style mystery second. The cast makes the show work; they all seem to be having a total blast 100% of the time. It's a good Friday night show, and a nice antidote if you TiVo it and watch after Battlestar Galatica.

I agree with the above. The labels on posts that show up in the RSS feed definitely need to be better, identifying different features like Taste test of My Year of Flops or whatever as such.

I saw it. The movie is a hoot, but it's not likely to appeal to many people who aren't already slasher movie-oriented. As slasher pics go, it's good times. I know of a bunch of ladies who are going because Jensen Ackles' hotness though.

Telling us what we already know
Alec Baldwin has contributed a number of articles to The Huffington Post in the past several years. HuffPo really does have that "preaching to the converted" thing down pat.

Well, I had a huge crush on Stockwell in the mid-'90s. And not necessarily just when he was young. There, I said it. You're right that he's great on TV. He definitely brings the squinty and debonair to Battlestar Galactica these days.

Say what you will…
…but I'm a total mark for this movie. I cried during the trailer. I probably can't even have an objective reaction to it, and I plan to see it this weekend.

I loved her in Reefer Madness, and thought the whole thing was a hoot. And I watched it stone sober.

I'm thrilled this is being released. I had to dig it up on an ancient VHS when I wanted to see it. This movie is such a great time capsule, and really shows how far society has come in its acceptance of gays. Not far enough, obviously, but there has been a lot of progress.

Leave bacon alone!
Why must people keep taking something sacred and perfect like bacon and finding various ways to ruin it? I think America has an emotionally abusive relationship with bacon — we keep saying it's the best thing ever, but we keep encouraging it to change or get mixed into different things and then we

Yeah, we're stuck taping Gossip Girl on the bedroom VCR while we TiVo Chuck and HIMYM in the living room. Poor Terminator is the odd man out, but we're planning to catch up on it online at some point. Light, goofy shows like Chuck are perfect for Monday nights and I don't get why it's not more popular. It's definitely

If your baked beans taste like sand, you're not making them right. Come try them in Texas, where they're usually made with bacon and brown sugar.

I read this blog
I'm glad you're picking this up again. It must be kind of a grind, slogging through the not-so-great episodes.

Margaritas
Are those considered outrageously large in other places? Around here, that's a normal margarita size.

I totally cried when Marshall finally found the burger. I am going through some of the same issues he is right now, only somewhat more permanent and soul-crushing, and have developed a serious taco obsession. Yeah, this episode was as depressingly true-to-life as Mad Men.

"For one thing, ghosts aren't real"
If only we could get the ghost-biased media to accept this, we could stop seeing these stupid stories forever!
