There have also been some amazing performances on SNL.  Nirvana certainly didn't hurt their reputation at all when they were on.  Beck has done fairly well on the show as well.  Maybe it's just gotten worse over the years as the quality of both SNL, and music as a whole, has plummeted.

She'll do just fine with the "women who are sick to death of their boyfriends playing X-Box all the time" demographic.  I don't know, couldn't make it past about 20-30 seconds, so that's the closest thing to a joke I can come up with.

Just saw an ad for it, and People is calling it one of the year's best films….ready to apologize for your grade, MR. Tobias!?

"They’re in a film that tries to make a variation on static cling terrifying. "  Hey, static cling is no joke!  Anyone else ever put on a sweater fresh out of the dryer and had the snot shocked out of them!?

I got an angry inch!

Yeah, I really shouldn't ever drink and try to make intelligent comments on the internet.  I think I might have had some sort of point buried in this jumbled mess, but I can't say for sure at this point!

I hate Buble and any type of "crooner" crap!  This is the style of singing for those who have zero talent, zero creativity, and zero originality!

Just one more:  "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone"…let me see you front on that!

I should mention though that I absolutely loathe George W. Bush and Dick Cheney, but I also loathe hypocritical religious types…and no, I don't worship Bill Maher either; I find him to be an obnoxious tool most of the time!

"Judge not lest ye be judged"…and I had another good one, but I can't remember it…DOH!

What I find interesting is all of the so-called "Christians" saying things such as "Hitchens is going to Hell" or whatever crap they've been spewing, when that is against the teachings of Jesus for passing judgment on another human being.  And also, the fact that the vast majority of all people in the United States

Well anyway, thanks to all of you for bringing me up to speed…I feel like a real AV Clubber now!  And really, what more is there in life towards which to aspire!?

Thank you, mratfink!  It's been driving me nuts for so long!

Would some kind person out there please give me a quick rundown of how the whole Dawes "meme" came about?  I must not have been paying attention when it first happened, though I've been seeing the references 24/7 for quite a while now…I'm sorry for my ignorance, but I don't get it at all.  I don't even get whether the

Don't get me wrong, it's totally cool with me if Josh wins…I still like him more than the rest of the people on the show.  (And now it looks like he's one step closer!)

I haven't watched very much X Factor except for the initial auditions, and I haven't really been following the comments here on AV Club.  But I wonder if other people are like me in that they thought Josh was amazing when he performed "At Last" by Etta James and was extremely likable, but has been a huge letdown ever

Just posting to agree with those who wish that Enlightened would not get canceled, although it sounds like a fore-drawn conclusion by the way people are talking.  I think Laura Dern is awesome as the Amy character!

Mama…just cooked some ham.  Laid it on a piece of bread…should've ordered out instead.

I know that the term "breaking bad" is a chemistry reference, but Jesse does use it in an early episode to express his disbelief that Mr. White would go from a high school teacher to a meth cook.  Something like "he's just going to break bad all of a sudden"…..or something to that effect.
