I can relate to almost any criticism of Man of Steel, and yet I still enjoyed it, partly because at least it wasn't Superman Returns.  Seriously, the worst thing you can ever do with a  Superman movie is make it completely and utterly boring.

MAJOR SPOILER

I totally thought that was some intentional reflexive comment, because the microwave door looks exactly like the scree of a 60's TV, like she's in a close up (implying emotional intensity) but seen as small in the far distance (Skyler's sense of numbness, and or the dearth or intimacy between wife and husband who is

In the Kitty Kelly muck raker it's implied Sinatra didn't like to be on set too long, to the extent that he didn't want to do safety takes. The director would say "that's perfect, one more like that," to which Frank would respond "if it's perfect we don't need another."

Total racists, to the man.

Marty Robbins was plenty cool, even at a time when much of the country industry was *losing* its cool, over the punishing new commercial dominance of rock 'n' roll. HIllbilly was going out of style but he was making hillbilly arrangements work commercial longer than others, thanks to his spry but velvety, silver

I went to Nashville once rather than to Memphis (where I've gone 3 times) during Elvis Week in August, primarily to go to Studio B which was at that time only open temporarily to the public, and was in danger of closing down for good for any business. Thank god smarter heads prevailed, that space is sacred, hallowed

Sounds a bit like the other Willy Wonka-aping debacle, Toys starring Robin Wiliams.  Tone was all over the map.  Also, not the least bit funny.

Try the Veal, I have obviously hit some nerve I did not intend to hit, but you've got to get a grip on yourself dude.  You are clearly in a highly emotional reactionary state of mind about this and projecting your sensitivities onto me.

I haven't seen it, pretty sure I won't ever, but I have to say than monologue is surprisingly solid, based on that alone I would have assumed it was okay.

I've never heard the name Chuck Lorre before, but now I have another autuer whose work I can confidently avoid, since I've found everything under his name to be unwatchable (other, of course, than the terrific Roseanne, on which I assume he played a less dominant role.)

Try the Veal, if you want to talk dickbaggery, maybe we should discuss the maturity level of those who immediately go personal and cast broad general aspersions on someone's entire personality on chat boards, complete with big boy swear word name calling, the second they disagree.

Netflix and Hulu Plus made it extremely easy for me to "cut the cable" and save a bundle while barely missing out on a thing I care about.  Most anything not streaming on those that's worth watching will at least be on disc eventually.    Breaking Bad and Mad Men are the two shows however for which I cannot wait, not

Cool to know, making a list of this one too.  Any idea how the remainder tracks would have been sequenced?   Was the suite to be Side 1 or 2?  Seems like maybe it was meant for side two as a closer - also it doesn't contain the single Misunderstanding (I think maybe Alone Tonight was also a single?) which would make

I love me some Phil, but I think it kind of does - as it deserved the prolonged mocking by Letterman.

Kidding aside, what about the two remaining studio tracks from 3 Sides Live US Ver: Evidence of Autumn and Open Door?   Were those possibly intended as B-sides only?

However there's simply no excuse for not seeing the first Ghostbusters. Number 2 should have literally been called Ghostbusters Number Two with a logo of the ghost on a toilet.   But the first one is simply essential.

Funny you should mention Caddyshack because like Dumb and Dumber, it's an okay movie with a few great scenes, that somehow gets lumped with far more solid, classic, better crafted comedies.  And both spurred a helacious crop of terrible bottom feeding imitators that dragged the level of movie comedy way, way down by

Clearly you've heard very few popular albums made in the last 30 years.

What blew my mind was seeing Genesis at Madison Square Garden where they opened with Mama. As potential vocal strain goes, that is like The Beatles opening with Twist and Shout played 3 times in a row. Most any other vocalist would take 45 minutes of easier material warming up to that upper register and balls-out
