I love TV and what its capable of, that's why I so often criticise it. And unfortunately, tonight's Scandal was not a very good finale at all. I adore and respect Shonda Rhimes' who has demonstrated better than anyone that soapy does not have to equate to trashy.

I agree that the major narrative thrust of the movie is to get Veronica to sit back in that Mars Investigation Office by the time the credits roll. Everything keys off from that endpoint - and it creates all sorts of interesting meta-textual questions that you've delved into here.

I generally don't like NBCs coverage, but they've shown a good chunk of short track speed skating.

Even if you WANT to know the rules and scoring system of a sport, NBC does a fantastically shitty job.

That was… odd. Generally I'm a fan of some eighties-styled cheese but that whole sequence felt like it missed a few beats.

So "Mom" quickly becomes "Teen Mom". I admired the hell out of the pilot, but it felt overstuffed.

Whoa! Rhona Mitra's death didn't surprise - her casting on a new show guaranteed a swift end.

Jesus Christ,

So I've been dealing with depression on and off for the past decade - and I moved to england for school.

At both the college and high school level, I remember there was a huge swath of people MUN would collect. The kids who came to party, the kids who came to date, and the kids who came to WIN.

So um, just to help clarify - it was mara who originally 'stole' money from the slush fund, right?

Someone mind help filling in some blanks? SPOILERS for later seasons, of course.

I respect this. If only for how long it took to write that up.

I really do not get the season three love. I felt it was full of stopgaps and sleight of hand

Fun Story: There was a DCAU email newsletter that covered the latest episodes for quite a few years. Somehow, they got a hold of the uncut copy on VHS. This is like, nearly two years before it was commercially available.

Will Pfeiffer handled the end of Catwoman's run and most of his material is quite good. Its not as noir as Brubaker's best issues, but its still very much the Catwoman we know and love.

Which ties into the largest problem with co-pilot: We simply don't need it.

I love the first season of FRIENDS - even though I had never watched it til a year ago. It just GETS twentysomething slackerdom in a way that is rarely seen, even now. HBO's Girls occasionally hits it, but usually gets distracted by strangeness or unbelievable elements (an editor for an ebook? The fuck?).

You're angry because an american website uses american spellings? The hell…?

I generally don't criticise a reviewer here at av club - everyone has their own styles and that's part of what makes the conversations so lively.
