I have some Deerhunter on vinyl thanks to that kind of confusion. My logic at the record store was I can't remember which is which so…Deerhoof sounds too precious a name for what I want to hear, I'll go with the more violent sounding Deerhunter.

I read every quote in angry voice.

My my Rush fans are touchy. I was thinking of VH's ambitions to be superstars. Rush is shorthand for great music that lacks the widespread mainstream appeal. Diamond Dave's whole act keeps them from getting to intellectual with their music.

Someone already compared DLR to Bob Dylan to make a point so I don't feel bad saying this unevenness is exactly why the Beatles worked. Paul was the sugar and John was the spice; they both kept each other from going too far in their preferred direction. With a singer that could match the high tier playing of Eddie Van

I think it was honesty more than ego. Everyone in Kiss was on the same level musically and that made the Kiss sound work really well. They needed someone to fill Frehley's platform shoes and not get bored with the material.

A couple of my favorites:

My wife and I sometimes play Ticket to Ride. The Scandinavian setting is designed for up to three players so game time is in that 60 - 90 minute sweet spot. We also score our routes as we go rather than adding them up at the end and will play to 100 points rather than wait until one person is down to the minimum

I can't see them getting back together now unless it was an occasional one off show in the DC area. No albums, no tours, just Mommy and Daddy having some 'sex with the ex' time raise hopes and subsequently disappoint their children.

Anyone critical of US foreign policy post WWII probably saw something like this coming. Eventually some group would retaliate in a significant way; some of us were surprised it took a little over fifty years before it happened.

End Hits sounds more like they were trying to make a record that doesn't sound like a Fugazi record sometimes trying to add layers (Recap Moddotti, Floating Boy) or stripping them further down than the first EP (Closed Captioned). The result is the tension and frustration of 4 people who have performed and recorded

Listen to Steady Diet a few times now to see if you get where they were going. If it clicks, get Kill Taker -  this one rocks more than the two you bought. Red Medicine is a great album but can be a disappointment if you want something more like Repeater and it only makes sense if you can lock into Steady Diet and

I see two arcs in Fugazi's recording output. 1st is 7 Songs through Repeater as what MacKaye described as "the Stooges play Reggae" period and Steady Diet through Argument as their Art Rock period with each record becoming progressively more challenging to the listener until The Argument offered more consolidation.
